The opportunity
You will join the MACH Product Management team within Hitachi Energy’s Grid Integration business and take ownership of a defined product area within the overall MACH product portfolio.
MACH is an industry-leading control and protection platform used in HVDC and power quality solutions, playing a key role in modern power grids and the energy transition.
In this role, you will drive product strategy, roadmap, and investment direction for your assigned area while ensuring alignment between system requirements, business needs, and product development. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across R&D, engineering, and business functions to translate application and market needs into scalable product solutions.
You will operate as an individual contributor, leading through influence in a collaborative global environment.
How you’ll make an impact
- You define and drive product strategy and roadmap within your assigned MACH product area
- You take ownership of product portfolio performance, lifecycle, and long-term development direction to stay competitive
- You contribute to R&D investment planning and ensure alignment with portfolio priorities
- You analyze market and application needs to guide product and system decisions
- You translate insights into product and system requirements for development
- You ensure alignment of requirements across internal stakeholders and R&D teams
- You drive lifecycle management, including product introductions, transitions, and phase-outs
- You ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, standards, and internal business needs
- You collaborate across global functions within Grid Integration to ensure consistency within the MACH platform
Your background
- You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field
- You bring experience in product management, engineering, or R&D within relevant industries
- You have a strong understanding of industrial control systems and power electronics-based applications
- You bring domain knowledge in power systems, HVDC, or similar technologies
- You can define product direction based on complex technical and business inputs
- You are comfortable working across global, cross-functional organizations
- You influence stakeholders effectively without direct authority
- You are a strong communicator with a structured, analytical, and result-oriented mindset

This role is preferably based in Ludvika or Västerås, Sweden, with Kraków, Poland as an alternative location. You should expect occasional international travel, up to 10%.
