FMC has a strong pipeline of innovative herbicide active ingredients with substantial growth potential. To support this opportunity, we are seeking a Global Product Manager who will strategically lead, manage, and advance FMC’s herbicide portfolio in alignment with key markets.

The Global Product Manager will lead the strategic direction of FMC’s Herbicides, integrating essential functions such as product development, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, supply, and marketing to ensure successful commercialization and ongoing life-cycle management. This role will collaborate closely with global, regional, and key country leaders and contribute to major business planning and product innovation processes.

Location: Geneva or Schaffhausen

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shapes mid‑ and long‑term herbicide portfolio strategy, covering marketing initiatives, launches, life‑cycle management, positioning, pricing, and IP elements

  • Enhances financial performance of assigned assets and partners with regions on pricing approaches

  • Keeps executive, regional, and country teams informed on strategy, project progress, and portfolio performance

  • Supports licensing discussions involving products or active ingredients to advance business objectives

  • Tracks competitive dynamics and evaluates their impact on current and future portfolio direction

  • Delivers market insights to R&D to guide discovery priorities and development pipelines

  • Serves as the main contact for portfolio matters with broad awareness of commercial, regulatory, supply chain, and development topics

  • Supplies operations, supply chain, and procurement with input for capacity planning, sourcing decisions, and cost optimization

  • Helps shape stewardship and sustainability efforts and contributes to regulatory activities for the portfolio

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. / B.A. or MBA / M.S. degree in Marketing, Business Management or Agronomy

  • 10+ years of experience in global or regional crop protection businesses with strong understanding of commercial, regulatory, supply chain, and development interdependencies

  • Proven strategic capability, including long‑term portfolio and market planning grounded in competitive, regulatory, and technological insights.

  • Skilled at translating market intelligence into actions that improve asset performance and guide business direction

  • Experienced cross‑functional leader able to influence diverse teams across roles, cultures, and geographies

  • Strong collaborator and network builder who fosters trust, respect, and productive internal and external partnerships

  • Financially and commercially savvy, with experience in pricing, asset management, and new product introduction

  • Effective communicator and presenter, proficient in MS Office and able to travel up to 25%
