The Chemistries & Supplies Division develops, manufactures, procures, and supports state-of-the-art
consumables including liquid- and gas-phase separation columns, sample preparation, performance
chemicals, glycobiology and bioanalytical proteins, and a full portfolio of supplies for life science
instrumentation.
The Product Manager is responsible for the following job duties:
- Designs and implements marketing strategies for GPC Columns and Standards product lines to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena.
- Interfaces with engineering, manufacturing, and sales to develop new products and to ensure smooth new product(s) or product line introductions.
- Manages product offerings through the entire product life cycle.
- Conducts competitive analysis to determine product positioning, market segmentation, channel mix, pricing, volume, product service/support strategy and identifies customer needs.
- Develops product definitions and solution plans designed to address customer needs and/or expand market share.
- Evaluates business opportunities to define and optimize the product portfolio through analysis and in-depth understanding of targeted markets, market trends, customer business issues, and the competitive environment.
- Collaborates with customers and/or third parties to define product requirements for new products or extensions to existing products.
- Develops commercialization plans to support new product and workflow introductions, including the creation of compelling market campaigns and collateral that highlight our differentiation and unique value propositions.
- Creates product-specific marketing materials, such as brochures, videos, and webinars, in close collaboration with Marketing Communications, and supports our digital marketing activities.
- Develops close relationships with our global sales and service teams and enable them with training and compelling customer-facing content.
- Conducts cadenced business reviews to divisional senior management that provide insight to business results, obstacles, and opportunities.
- Presents technical content at conferences, symposiums, and customer sites.
- Contributes to a successful One Agilent culture where teamwork, respect, and trust are our keys to continued success.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Advanced Degree with a focus in chemistry or other sciences or engineering fields preferred.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in chromatography, product management, marketing and/or sales with a focus on delivering customer solutions.
- In-depth understanding of Chromatography principles, products, markets, and applications.
- Proven ability to independently set priorities based on alignment with business goals and strategic direction, define timelines and deliver to commitments.
- Ability to distill complex technology and scientific information into clear marketing messages and presentations to non-expert audiences.
- Ability to travel worldwide as required, up to 25% of the time, to drive business outcomes.
