We are seeking to hire an experienced Global Product Manager to join our team. This role will be based at our global headquarters in Pleasanton, California.
The Global Product Manager, Cobot Solutions is responsible for product strategy and overall growth of collaborative robot (cobot) solutions and related application offerings. This role will foster customer-driven innovation throughout the organization, working closely with sales, technical support, engineering and other functions to strengthen ORT’s position in the rapidly growing cobot market.
The Global Product Manager, Cobot Solutions must be a highly visible and cross-functional leader, developing deep customer insights and translating this “voice of customer” input into a robust go-to-market offering. This role will set the tone and vision for cobot growth initiatives, including strategy, pricing, positioning, training, and promotion, and will serve as a critical driver of adoption across key industries and applications.
This role also plays a key part in shaping Omron’s broader ecosystem strategy for cobots, ensuring seamless integration with complementary technologies such as vision systems, end-of-arm tooling, and autonomous mobile robots. The Global Product Manager will work closely with strategic partners, including Techman, to align product direction, roadmap priorities, and joint go-to-market initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Drive product strategy, growth planning, and full lifecycle management, from market definition through launch and ongoing lifecycle performance, for Omron’s cobot solutions and application offerings.
- Establish a clear understanding of market segmentation, customer applications, and competitive positioning for cobots.
- Develop and “own” the cobot product roadmap in support of the cobot value stream, ensuring requirements are well understood and aligned with overall strategy
- Ensure a strong end-to-end customer experience by aligning product definition, application fit, go-to-market, and post-deployment support with customer needs.
- Work closely with Omron’s Global Sales organization to grow the cobot pipeline and accelerate key opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with strategic partners, including Techman, to align product roadmaps, product positioning, joint development, and go-to-market execution.
- Ensure alignment of priorities and execution within the cobot value stream, working closely with project management, system engineering, and external partners to translate product strategy into deliverable solutions.
- Articulate Omron’s strategy to build sustainable competitive advantage in cobot markets; develop and communicate a clear and compelling vision for how we will win.
- Lead cross-functional teams to define and launch new cobot SKUs, application packages, and ecosystem-enabled solutions as required.
- Ensure alignment of cobot offerings with adjacent product portfolios, including mobile manipulator (MoMa) solutions..
- Monitor and drive performance against key metrics, including revenue, pipeline, adoption, and margin.
- Develop clear product positioning, messaging, and sales enablement tools for global regions.
- Demonstrate strong application and industry knowledge, participating in trade shows, webinars, and industry events.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in product management for integrated hardware and software systems, preferably within the robotics or automation industries
- Experience in waterfall and agile product development methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or Industrial Automation; MBA preferred.
- To conform with U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government.
- Demonstrated passion for product management with a sense of urgency and drive for results; data-driven with excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to develop and “own” a clear and compelling product strategy.
- Ability to connect and communicate with stakeholders inside and outside Omron, including end users, channel partners, and global sales teams.
- Ability to lead global product initiatives in a fast-paced industrial environment; prior experience in technical sales or application engineering preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience launching hardware-based products and associated software or application solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams).
- Willingness to travel (30–35%).
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with collaborative robots and human-robot interaction in industrial environments.
- Familiarity with cobot applications such as pick-and-place, machine tending, palletizing, and vision / inspection.
- Understanding of integration between cobots and broader automation systems (vision, AMRs, PLCs, safety systems).
- Experience working with system integrators and developing application ecosystems.
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and collaborative robot compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of go-to-market strategy and application-driven growth models in robotics.
The annual salary range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000 a year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus program. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
