SSA Marine is in the midst of a significant digital transformation, having recently implemented a global ERP platform, including a procure-to-pay module. The Global Procurement Operations Manager will play a critical role in this journey, leveraging experience in launching and optimizing P2P systems to bring structure to complexity, align diverse stakeholders, and proactively identify and resolve both near-term issues and long-term process opportunities. Along with P2P system optimization, this role will oversee daily, tactical execution of purchasing activities to ensure efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. The role requires a highly organized, collaborative leader with strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the energy and resilience to navigate obstacles while driving measurable, sustainable improvement across the enterprise.
- Process Design & Governance: Define, document, govern, and continuously improve the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process to ensure consistency, control, and scalability across all regions and business units. This role will need to create, standardize, amend, and continuously improve on all P2P processes including purchase requisitions, approvals, purchase order creation and change management, goods and services receipt, invoice processing and matching, exception handling, and payment execution.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the P2P process. Regularly monitor these metrics for ongoing assessment and take corrective actions as needed. Develop dashboards and executive ready reporting.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Procurement Category Managers, Internal Controls, Finance, IT, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Operations, and other stakeholders to align P2P with broader organizational goals and ensure system and processes are efficient and valuable.
- Change Management: Lead company through process changes, facilitating training and adoption of new systems or workflows. This includes implementing new technologies, processes, and policies while ensuring that stakeholders are informed, trained, and onboarded effectively.
- Technology & Optimization: Drive automation, AI, and digital transformation initiatives to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement:Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends. Drive innovation and implement new strategies to stay ahead of the curve.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Enforce adherence to internal controls, legal requirements, and procurement policies.
- Experience: 10+ years in P2P implementation, Procurement, or Accounts Payable, including leading global complex projects and cross-functional teams.
- Systems Knowledge: Strong experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, IFS) and automation tools.
- Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and process improvement skills (e.g., Lean/Six Sigma).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
