General Responsibilities
. Conduct, summarize, and report innovative metabolism and nutritional research in poultry that provides data demonstrating the value of Novus products and differentiating them from competitors. Investigate the feasibility of applying a wide range of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, products and problems. Plan and execute laboratory research.
. Serve as the main resource for poultry nutrition (minerals, enzymes, and gut health) research. Recommend applications and solutions, maintain a list of Novus literature and supporting studies across species. Keep abreast of the market. Update and share new findings in the literature with the research team at Novus.
. Summarize data to generate scientific publications. Communicate research findings in professional meetings, peer-reviewed manuscripts, proceedings, popular press, and Novus materials. Submit the manuscript for peer review.
. Establish and further collaborative efforts with external scientists to enhance Novus' research capability and reputation worldwide.
. May supervise one NGS intern.
. Collaborate and provide advice for poultry trials in various parts of the world area. Respond to customer informational inquiries and create solutions to technical problems and issues.
. Participate in staff meeting between MRP R&D and WA R&D representatives, GPD, global marketing, and global technical.
. Adhere to the Novus Management System (NMS), Novus Integrity System (NIS), and all policies and procedures related to position assignment.
Key Knowledge/Experience
. Ph.D. in Animal/Poultry Science or an Advanced degree in animal nutrition or related science with 6+ years of research experience.
. Proven expertise in poultry nutrition, physiology, and management; general biochemistry and intermediary metabolism, feed manufacturing, and formulation.
. Demonstrated knowledge of experimental design and statistics. A minor in statistics is a plus.
. Knowledge of technical writing and ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals.
. Established a technical network within the scientific and industrial communities through collaborative research efforts.
. Strong technical communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate results to non-technical audiences.
Skills/Competencies
. Feed formulation software and statistical software (SAS/JMP).
Storytelling and using data to convey a commercial message to solve customer pains.
. Maintain internal and external networking with the commercial team (sales/tech and marketing) and CROs
