Job Description:

The MGSF Global Performance & Insights Director will be a pivotal leader within the MGS Finance (MGSF) organization reporting directly into the Global Director of MGS Data, Analytics and Reporting.

This role is responsible for leading initiatives that enhance the data foundations, reporting, insights, transparency, MGSF’s 3-tiered governance model, performance management, and ultimately customer experience within MGSF and for the segments we serve. This role will lead a team of three Associates, with the capacity to expand by hiring a fourth team member. The role will build, deploy and maintain quality insights tools with predictive and prescriptive intelligence to unlock value and improve effectiveness, efficiency, insights and experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data analytics, performance management, and governance, and will drive actionable insights to support organizational goals. This role leads includes collaborating and aligning with various stakeholders such as other MGSF Leaders, Segment leadership teams, Global S&F community, Corporate, and individual business units, among others.

  • Qualified Accountant preferred
  • 10+ years overall business experience, along with Data Analytics/Data Science experience. Leadership experience is preferred.

What will be your key responsibilities?

The role is responsible for defining an overall strategy and common approach for Performance Management across MGSF with an emphasis on the following areas:

Data Foundations & Reporting Automation:

  • Lead the creation and enhancement of MGSF's data foundations.
  • Further automate MGSF's reporting and dashboard capabilities to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Expand data transparency within MGSF and across the segments served.

Insights Generation:

  • Drive the generation of actionable insights within MGSF.
  • Provide strategic insights to support decision-making within MGSF and across other segments.
  • Further develop “Reverse Service Levels” that can be actioned by the segments we serve (and enforced via “Tier 3” governance).

3 Tiered Governance Leadership:

  • Oversee the preparation and execution of materials, meetings, and insights for 3 tiered governance. Lead Tier 1 meetings (with the VP of MGSF) and Tier 2 Meetings (with Business Relationship Managers or “BRMs”)
  • Ensure governance within these meetings is effective and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate timely actions resulting from governance meetings.

Performance Measurement:

  • Measure improvements within MGSF's growing ecosystem of dashboards.
  • Implement processes to track and report on performance metrics.
  • The role is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining a data “ecosystem” (data repository, data feeds, data manipulation, etc.) underpinning a robust set of reporting & analytics tools to deliver a set of MGSF Performance Dashboards used by the MGSF at large to drive performance and provide transparency to MGS stakeholders & sponsors.
  • Using Agile capabilities, this role is accountable for data management and tool adoption and oversees the ongoing evolution of the area.
  • Included as part of the delivery of the MGS SFO Performance Dashboards is the design, activation and governance of a set of clearly defined, benchmarkable metrics to measure MGS SFO efficiency, effectiveness and customer experience (“the 3 E’s”). These metrics, published on a period basis, are used to equip MGS senior leaders with performance insights to drive continuous improvement and provide transparency to senior business stakeholders and MGS customers.

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Measure and ensure the satisfaction of MGSF's stakeholders.
  • Conduct customer satisfaction surveys twice a year and use feedback to drive improvements. This is achieved on a global basis in close partnership with MGS LT including Global MGS Director of Data, Analytics and Reporting and the VP of MGSF.

People Leader and Talent Developer:

  • The role provides leadership and line management of a remote team of technical and functional associates. The role holder must excel at developing talent and leading Associates through new areas with considerable ambiguity. In order to be effective, the role is expected to build a team culture that emphasizes speed and responsiveness, along with the learning agility and cross-cultural skills required to work across a wide range of functions on a global basis.

Cultivate External Connections:

  • This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with external advisors and other companies around performance and customer experience management in a Global Business Services context. The role holder is responsible for identifying relevant industry trends and innovative approaches, while determining how they can be applied to benefit MGS and Mars. The role holder will also look to leverage opportunities to showcase innovative practices of MGS with peer organizations and prospective talent.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits.  Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate).  Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
