Principal Activities

Commercial Marine Market Strategy & Growth

  • Analyze target vessel segments, applications, customer needs, market attractiveness and competitive positioning using established business objectives and available data.
  • Identify and prioritize growth opportunities across newbuild and aftermarket markets; prepare recommendations and supporting business rationale for management review.
  • Develop market roadmaps and annual initiatives within approved company, product and regional strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends, investment cycles and competitor activity, and translate findings into practical actions for Sales and Product Management.
  • Develop and support go-to-market plans for assigned segments and applications; track progress against agreed milestones and measures.

 

Commercial Marine Network Development

  • Develop working relationships with relevant decision makers and influencers at ship owners, operators, shipyards, naval architects, system integrators and other industry stakeholders.
  • · Support specification activity and market visibility in selected vessel segments and applications.
  • · Coordinate customer and partner engagement plans with regional sales teams and product management.
  • · Provide market and application guidance to internal stakeholders to strengthen customer positioning and opportunity development.

 

Commercial Playbook Development & Deployment

  • Analyze win/loss patterns, customer buying behavior and competitive dynamics
  • Develop vessel segment, application and customer engagement playbooks
  • Create market development frameworks and growth tools for regional teams
  • Standardize successful approaches and deploy globally
  • Support capability development across commercial organizations

Emerging Marine Technologies & Sustainability Applications

  • Monitor developments in alternative fuels and vessel decarbonization and smart shipping.
  • Define market-entry and growth strategies for emerging applications
  • Build and convert a robust opportunity pipelines within these high-growth, next-generation vessel segments.
  • Actively pursue and win commercial projects driven by industry shifts toward alternative fuels, including LNG, methanol, ammonia, carbon capture, and smart shipping.

 

Global Market Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate assigned market initiatives and opportunities across regions and business units, ensuring visibility of actions, dependencies and risks.
  • · Facilitate collaboration among Sales, Product Management, Marketing and Service to support agreed customer and market priorities.
  • · Support cross-border opportunity coordination, including alignment between ship owners, shipyards, regional sales teams and internal product resources.
  • · Influence stakeholders through fact-based recommendations and professional expertise in a global matrix environment without direct authority.
  • · Prepare market updates, recommendations and decision materials for management; implement approved actions and report progress at agreed milestones.

 

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • · Advanced knowledge of commercial marine markets, value chains, customer applications and newbuild and aftermarket business models.
  • · Ability to apply market-analysis, strategic-marketing and business-development principles to moderately complex, multi-regional assignments.
  • · Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate alternatives and recommend practical courses of action.
  • · Ability to operate independently within established objectives, policies and approval authorities, while seeking direction for decisions with broader strategic or financial impact.
  • · Effective stakeholder-management and influencing skills across functions, regions and organizational levels without direct authority.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master degree in Business Administration, Engineering and/or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial B2B markets serving the Commercial Marine industry
  • Proven experience in market management, business development, strategic marketing, product-market management and/or commercial leadership roles
  • Strong understanding of marine newbuild and aftermarket business models
  • Experience engaging with ship owners, operators, shipyards, system integrators and other marine stakeholders
  • Experience working in a global or multi-regional role with cross-functional coordination
  • Experience with industrial pumps, valves, fluid handling systems or related engineered products strongly preferred
