About the role

We're looking for an experienced and strategic Global Market Intelligence Director to lead the delivery of critical market insights that shape Crunchyroll's global growth strategies. In this role, you will work with teams including Product Engineering, Business Development, Strategy, FPA, and Partnerships to provide the intelligence that guides global decision-making. You will help scale our understanding of the subscription landscape, macroeconomic trends, and market opportunities to support expansion and innovation.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Research & Insights, you will develop dashboards, synthesize syndicated data, and generate actionable insights for senior leadership and strategic functions.

  • You will lead global market intelligence programs, synthesizing syndicated data and primary research into clear, strategic insights.
  • You will build internal dashboards and reporting tools to democratize access to market intel across the business.
  • You will support GTM planning and localization strategy by identifying priority markets and informing decision-making with relevant data.
  • You will analyze SVOD competitors' strategies, pricing models, and market performance using tools such as Ampere, Antenna, and Hub.
  • You will collaborate with Strategy, BD, Product, and Marketing teams to ensure market intelligence informs their execution.
  • You will identify macroeconomic and consumer behavior trends that influence subscription patterns and inform Crunchyroll's positioning.
  • You will be a subject matter expert on the global subscription economy, briefing senior team members with relevant insights.
  • You will help evolve Crunchyroll's pricing, packaging, and membership strategies through ongoing market and consumer tracking.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule and is based out of our Los Angeles office. Relocation support is available for the right candidate.

About You

  • You have 12+ years of experience in market research or business intelligence roles within media, entertainment, or technology sectors.
  • You have deep experience with syndicated tools and industry reports (e.g., Ampere, Antenna, Hub, VIP+, GWI).
  • You are fluent in analyzing global SVOD and subscription trends, market sizing, and consumer behaviors.
  • You can translate complex data into executive-ready narratives and business recommendations.
  • You're proactive and thrive in a an international business environment.
  • You have experience building dashboards and managing data visualization tools to improve data accessibility and stakeholder decision-making.

About the Team

Crunchyroll's Research & Insights team helps drive the growth of our streaming service and brand globally by delivering impactful insights across the anime consumer, content, brand, and market intelligence.

As a member of CDI (Center for Data & Insights), you are joining a growing, diverse, and dynamic team of researchers, business analysts, data engineers and scientists that answer some of our most consequential and sophisticated business questions. This involves collaborating with internal and external partners and leading the delivery of objective and engaging insights to improve our business's understanding and ability to act.

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, employer matched retirement savings, time-off programs, and progressive health benefits and perks.

Hybrid Workspace

Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.

Three in-person days per week. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are the company-wide days for ALL team members to be in the office, and individuals may choose to come in more if they please.
