About Kraken

Position Overview

Kraken is seeking a visionary Senior Executive for Global Market Development. This is a high-impact, "pathfinder" role focused exclusively on the 3+ year horizon. Your mission is not immediate sales, but the long-term cultivation of new international territories.

You will fly into target countries to engage the highest levels of leadership—including regulators, politicians, and utility C-level executives—to educate them on Kraken and its products. You will build deep institutional trust and navigate complex regulatory landscapes so that when the utilities are ready to re-platform in the coming years, Kraken is already established as their partner of choice. You will be responsible for creating the "Market Entry Guidebook" that will lead future sales teams to success.

Core ResponsibilitiesStrategic Market Cultivation (3+ Year Horizon)
  • Identify both new geographies and opportunities in current regions and establish Kraken’s presence years before formal procurement cycles begin.

  • Meet with government regulators and politicians to influence policy and advocate for the digital transformation of national infrastructure.

  • Educate the market and utilities on the full Kraken ecosystem.

Market Architecture & The "Guidebook"
  • Act as the lead strategist for new territory entry and prospects within existing regions, developing a comprehensive "Market Entry Guidebook" for the sales teams that will follow in 3–5 years.

  • Map the political, regulatory, and competitive landscape of each region to identify long-term "win themes" and strategic entry points.

  • Translate complex technical and regulatory concepts into compelling strategic narratives that align Kraken’s value proposition with national energy and utility goals.

Executive Relationship Management
  • Foster deep-rooted, long-term partnerships with utility executives, moving beyond a vendor-client relationship to become a trusted strategic advisor.

  • Serve as the primary global ambassador for Kraken, building the rapport necessary for future multi-million dollar technology shifts.

Qualifications
  • Executive Experience: 10+ years of experience in high-level business development, government relations, or strategic consulting within the Energy or Technology sectors.

  • Stakeholder Mastery: Exceptional ability to influence and manage relationships with C-suite executives, regulators, and political figures.

  • Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of the energy industry, with a focus on how to sell complex, large-scale technology platforms to regulated utilities.

  • Horizon-Focused: Proven ability to operate with a long-term mindset, focusing on relationship equity rather than short-term transactional wins.

  • Global Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively and spend significant time "on the ground" in emerging Kraken territories.
