The Manufacturing IT/OT Security leader is responsible for setting and owning the enterprise operational technology (OT) security strategy for Danaher's global manufacturing portfolio. Operating as both a business and technology leader, this role advances best practices in manufacturing plant security across 15+ operating companies — partnering with global security functions, CIOs, and technology teams to drive control capabilities into the manufacturing environment. The role provides senior technical leadership to a team of engineering leads and holds final approval authority for major architecture decisions in one of the most complex industrial cybersecurity programs in the global life sciences sector.

This position reports to the Senior Director, Cyber Strategy and Enterprise Identity and is part of the Information and Cyber Security organization and will be fully remote.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and advance OT security best practices across the manufacturing portfolio, including IT/OT segmentation, micro segmentation, asset inventory, continuous monitoring, and remote access controls, driving overall program maturity and resilience.

  • Own the OT security strategy, architecture, and platform roadmap, prioritizing and sequencing capability delivery across segmentation, monitoring, asset visibility, and related technologies, with final approval authority for major architecture decisions and associated risk acceptance.

  • Partner with global security functions, CIOs, and operating company technology teams to align enterprise security priorities with operating company execution and embed security controls into manufacturing environments.

  • Establish and govern OT security standards and program effectiveness by authoring enterprise policies, standards, and technical guidance; providing technical oversight to engineering and platform teams; and conducting security assessments against established OT security frameworks to identify and remediate control gaps.

  • Maintain awareness of manufacturing-focused cyber threats and emerging adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), translating threat intelligence and risk insights into defensive priorities, control enhancements, and investment decisions.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • 15+ years of experience in OT/industrial control system (ICS) security, industrial network engineering, or manufacturing cybersecurity, including establishing technical strategy, governance, and security programs across multi-site industrial environments.

  • Proven ability to operate as both a business and technology leader, partnering with CIOs, global security functions, and technology teams to advance security capabilities and drive adoption across manufacturing operations.

  • Deep expertise in OT security architecture and manufacturing security best practices, including IT/OT segmentation, micro segmentation, asset inventory, monitoring, Purdue Model/ISA-95 zone concepts, industrial DMZ design, IT/OT boundary controls, and hands-on experience with OT security technologies for segmentation, asset visibility, and monitoring.

  • Strong knowledge of OT/ICS environments and cybersecurity frameworks, including experience assessing industrial and manufacturing sites against IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, ISA-99, and CISA/NSA OT security guidance, with working knowledge of PLCs, DCS, SCADA, HMIs, historians, building management systems, OT protocols, and associated network dependencies.

  • Experience authoring and implementing OT security policies, standards, and technical guidelines across enterprise-scale industrial organizations, coupled with a strong understanding of adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) targeting manufacturing and industrial environments.
