Job Description
The Global Logistics Process Manager is responsible to drive an industrial approach to logistics and process simplification fueling an integrated supply chain. This responsibility will include development and implementation of long-term operational and carrier strategies for Logistics in close collaboration with the stakeholders, and in line with group and businesses strategies. In this role, the ideal candidate must be a logistics industry expert with a proven track record of driving transformational change.
Roles & Responsibilities
OPERATIONS
- Close collaboration with the key stakeholders and establish a subject matter expert team to drive the change, define and implement global technical, commercial, contractual, and operational standards to support the implementation of the defined strategies
- Perform spend analysis to establish a detailed view of the current spend segmentation for all transportation modes to drive strategy with an intimate knowledge of the global logistics market, key dynamics, and latest drivers.
- Developing and implementing sourcing plans with established milestones and anticipated completion dates and ongoing carrier performance management
- Conducting risk analysis associated with the development and deployment of outlined multi-year strategies
- Establishing process methodologies for documenting and archiving business requirements that the regional/local teams can execute on
- Preparing and participating/directing bid events, qualifying, approving, negotiating contracts on the selection of new service contracts terms that deliver value and mitigate risk to the company
- Develops relationship management strategies by which carriers/freight forwarders are evaluated, selected, and managed in accordance with established guidelines and best practices
- Conduct monthly or quarterly business review with the Top tiers 1 carriers/freight forwarders
- Develops balanced carrier score cards and report on key carrier performance metrics, conduct benchmarking studies and track contract utilization, service delivery, and service level agreement
- Establishes, manages, and maintains a strong and consistent supplier pipeline through strategic alliances, long term partnerships while ensuring appropriate mechanisms are in place to assess supplier quality and capability
- Ensures key stakeholders are fully engaged and buy-into the supplier’s engagement strategy
- Support business as a subject matter expert to adopt best practice into their environment
- Implement and provide guidance/standards and support to the Global, Regional and Geozones purchasing and sourcing organizations to ensure all logistics strategies and sourcing plans are adopted, operationalized, and delivering expected value
- Ensures safe and efficient utilization of company systems, tools and spreadsheets/reports and agreements
- OTM adoption and optimization are key to fulfilment of the requirements above.
- Evaluates, manages and report Regional/Global performance indicators related to cost, quality and carrier performance.
COMMUNICATION
- Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external
- Develops, maintains, and manages carrier/freight forwarder relationships on a Global scale
- Drive efforts to understand internal stakeholders needs and summarize business requirements as inputs into the Global-wide logistics strategy and market
- Supervisors & Managers should communicate expectations, roles, and responsibilities to their reports
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline
- Minimum 10+ years of operational and sourcing experience in logistics and supply chain management with large industrial/O&G corporations and/or freight forwarders
- Experience with OTM or other logistics management systems
- Experience in negotiating both domestic and international agreements
- Demonstrated track record of close collaboration with stakeholders and delivering significant and measurable savings in a large, complex, and fast-moving organization
- Ability to interact in English and potentially other language relevant in local hub
PREFERRED
- Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or master’s degree
- 10+ years of experience in Logistics Operations
- 10+ years involved in Carrier Relationship Management
- Experience in working across various functions, businesses, and regions
- Deep logistics industry expertise across all modes of transportation
REQUIRED
- Proficient in MS Office suite
- Deep knowledge of Logistics operations and sourcing techniques:
- Procure-to-Pay full cycle,e-ordering, and e-invoicing
- OTM experience or other Logistics Management Tools
- Supplier diversity, Industry and market trend-analysis, metrics/measurement
- Financial reporting tools, Contract Management tools, Supplier Management tools
- Strong analytical skills, including cost models
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities
- Comprehend the industry and the marketplace and associated impact to the business
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills to plan, prepare and lead complex global/ regional supplier negotiations
- Strong teamwork, leadership, and management skills
- Project Management skills with ability to structure problem solving and decision making
- Display impeccable time-management, detail oriented and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task with proven record of meeting deadlines
- Must be flexible with the ability to work in a constantly changing environment and quickly adapt to operational requirements
- Ability to operate across teams, cultural and organizational boundaries
