Global Logistics Manager will establish global processes and implement programs, projects, and initiatives to achieve the company’s overall strategic objectives. Elevating the logistics function to support a best-in-class Supply Chain. This role is responsible for all tactical elements of inbound logistics for the North America region and supporting all other global regions. Additionally, this position ensures execution of strong delivery performance and collaboration cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and contracted transportation providers. The Global Logistics Manager will continuously drive process, service, and cost improvements within the supply chain for inbound international traffic. Manage and mentor two separate functional teams: operations (day to day execution of product delivery) and logistics data (ASN and shipment data management, ERP / system capabilities) while overseeing system enhancements and optimization opportunities.

How You’ll Make a Difference

  • Oversee all inbound logistics (Air, Ocean, Parcel)
  • Support all 3PL logistics operations by effectively communicating and coordinating the related inbound flows
  • Manage inbound and outbound carrier relationship and ensuring that our vendors are meeting Columbia Sportswear performance and service standards.
  • Responsible for standardizing operations processes and preparing for implementing new processes and policies, working in close relationship with internal leaders within the company.
  • Ensure that operational processes are aligned with system capabilities and oversee systems improvement and optimization opportunities.
  • Review operational improvement opportunities with the Logistics team & LSP’s (Root cause analysis and performance improvements)
  • Provide regular reporting to internal stakeholders (Inbound flow, transit time analysis, delivery management)
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that product delivers to customers timely and compliant to customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure critical planning timelines are achieved per expectations (Peak season planning, Black Friday etc.).

YOU ARE

  • Represent logistics team on regular DC execution calls with cross-functional teams including distribution and account operations.
  • Coordinate and execute network adjustments and optimization opportunities in partnership with logistics leadership team.
  • Actively contribute to business initiatives related to transportation & logistics models.
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement projects that support business evolution.
  • Drive for results while maintaining a positive, collaborative and team-oriented approach. 
  • Build strong and collaborative cross-functional relationships to ensure teams are working together to achieve the company’s goals.
  • Broad understanding of supply chain processes, procedures and internal structure and partners
  • Expertise in global ocean / air freight, Third-party contract logistics, and domestic FTL / LTL transportation.
  • Professionalism/Interpersonal skills – clear and concise business communication; ability to influence others, comfortable interacting with customers, sales reps and management team.

YOU HAVE

  • SAP or relatable ERP experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 7 years professional experience in logistics/supply chain.
  • 3+ years management experience in logistics
  • Apparel/footwear industry experience a plus, but not required.
