Our Team is based out of our office in Burlington, Massachusetts, where we work in-office Monday through Thursday each week, and remotely on Fridays. Team members must reside within or be willing to relocate to a commutable distance from our Burlington office.

We have an opening for a Global Logistics Coordinator – Import/Export Operations – based in our Burlington office, reporting directly to the Logistics Manager. This role involves international logistics, customs compliance, and freight forwarder management, ensuring our great products make it where they need to go across the globe on time!

In detail, you will:

  • Prepare and maintain all templates for exporting and importing into international markets, including but not limited to health certificates, manufacturer’s declarations and affidavits, commercial invoices, shipper’s letter of instructions, NAFTAs and import permits
  • Prepare and submit all export documentation for each customer shipment to APHIS, USDA for all international exports
  • Prepare and maintain matrices to assist in export documentation
  • Coordinate vessel bookings with freight forwarders based on product availability and order-ready date
  • Develop and maintain tracking tools for the internal Wellness Pet team to communicate any changes in transit and visibility into ETAs
  • Prepare and provide the warehouse with required shipping documents for exports. This includes country-specific commercial invoices, packing lists, bill of lading templates, and/or packaging declarations for warehouse completion
  • Work with customs brokers to provide completed export documents required for customs clearance at the destination
  • Manage and plan import, export processes and improvements related to customs documentation for shipping and receiving merchandise to ensure on-time arrivals and compliance with all regulations
  • Work cross-functionally with our internal teams, including customer service, regulatory services, planning, procurement, and warehousing to align on logistics strategies.
  • Assist in improving, maintaining, and updating SOPs
  • Assist in documentation and research for new market entries
  • Assist the Logistics Manager with the budget setting process and monthly forecasting
  • Support the Global Logistics Coordinator – North America with logistics-related inquiries and issues by collaborating with freight forwarders, carriers, and suppliers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments

We need someone who has extensive experience with the import/export business. It is desired that the individual has also dealt with import/export handling for food-grade products. In addition, you will need:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years of experience working with import/export
  • Strong understanding of customs regulations and international shipping procedures.
  • Knowledge of Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services, United States Department of Agriculture, IREGS, and Harmonized Tariff Schedule Codes and Incoterms is a plus
  • Proven experience coordinating and tracking the movement of shipments using a transportation management system
  • The ability to efficiently manage and prioritize a high volume of emails daily, ensuring timely responses and effective communication across departments.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to self-review work
  • Previous experience working with Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • The ability to analyze and present data to multiple levels of the organization
  • Well-developed organizational and communication skills with a desire to work in a transaction processing and fast-paced environment
  • The ability to be proactive while working independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and relationship management abilities

The annual salary range for this position is $74,100.00 to $105,300.00, based on a full-time work schedule, anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational equity. Compensation may vary within that pay range depending on the selected candidate’s professional background, experience, operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law. The full compensation details will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer and may include eligibility for participation in a bonus program.
