Ebara Elliott Energy (EEE) is a world leader in heavy engineering and energy solutions. We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Global Lifting Operations Manager to lead the strategic development, seamless implementation, and robust governance of all lifting operations across our worldwide sites and projects.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in the UK, Italy, or the UAE, with an expectation of 30% global travel.

This pivotal role ensures that every lifting and rigging activity is executed with paramount safety, exceptional efficiency, and unwavering compliance with international, regional, and local standards. The successful candidate will be a recognized subject matter expert, driving a culture of technical excellence, digital innovation, and continuous improvement within our global operations.
Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive global lifting operations strategy, encompassing policies, procedures, and best practices that fully integrate EEE’s global EHS and risk methodology.

    • Provide unparalleled technical expertise and strategic guidance to regional teams and external contractors.

    • Champion the identification, development, and deployment of cutting-edge digital solutions to future-proof lifting operations, enabling smarter planning, execution, and performance tracking.

  • Governance & Compliance:

    • Ensure absolute compliance with all applicable lifting regulations and standards, including OSHA, LOLER, ASME, ISO, and other international requirements.

    • Design and implement a world-class global inspection program for cranes, lifting equipment, and accessories, providing validated assurance and organizational confidence.

    • Oversee rigorous certification, inspection, and maintenance programs for all lifting equipment worldwide.

    • Lead and support lifting-related incident investigations, delivering thorough root-cause analysis and driving effective corrective and preventive actions.

  • Training & Competency:

    • Establish a robust global competency framework to ensure consistent skills, qualifications, and authorizations across all business units.

    • Create and operationalize two state-of-the-art training centers in Abu Dhabi and New Orleans, delivering advanced instruction and hands-on learning experiences.

    • Train and qualify key personnel to an Approved Person level and mentor regional lifting champions to foster long-term excellence.

  • Operational Excellence:

    • Provide expert support to project teams in the meticulous planning, engineering, and flawless execution of complex or critical lifts.

    • Review and approve heavy, tandem, or non-routine lift plans, ensuring they meet the highest technical standards.

    • Optimize lifting operations to significantly improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and control costs—all without compromising safety or engineering integrity.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Forge strong partnerships with engineering, operations, procurement, and EHS teams globally.

    • Engage proactively with equipment vendors and third-party contractors to ensure alignment with company standards.

    • Report key lifting performance metrics, digital initiatives, and improvement actions to senior leadership with clarity and precision.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or a related discipline (preferred).

  • Extensive relevant experience, with at least several years in a global role demonstrating profound expertise in lifting engineering, heavy lifting operations, and complex lift planning within the energy, oil & gas, or power generation sectors.

  • In-depth knowledge of international lifting standards and a proven ability to embed enterprise risk methodologies in lift planning.

  • Demonstrated track record in developing and managing global lifting frameworks, competency systems, and inspection programs.

  • TOPSET Investigator certification (or equivalent recognized investigation methodology).

  • Proven experience introducing or managing digital technologies (e.g., planning software, IoT monitoring) to enhance lifting operations.

Base Location & Work Schedule
