Job Description
The Strategic Sourcing Manager is a key role to independently handle RFP’s, Contract renewal/Negotiations, Supplier relationship management across multiple Indirect Procurement Categories (Facility Management, Travel, HR, Professional Services, Sales & Marketing etc.). This role requires strong strategic engagement with the Business partners & suppliers in finding opportunities for Cost Reductions & efficiencies and to develop sourcing strategy to meet the business objectives.
You will lead global/regional RFP’s across India, Asia Pacific & Europe for Indirect procurement categories. You will support current and emerging business needs; relationship manager with assigned suppliers and/or addressing supplier performance escalations; tendering and awarding of contracts.
You will require strong influencing, communication, creativity, partnership-building, problem solving, analytical and negotiation skills. The role will add value to the organization through cost savings, risk mitigation and ability to bring innovative and pro-active proposals for business needs.
S/he shall partner with business leaders to analyze spending, lead requests for proposals, compile contracts and written agreements, evaluate efficiency of product and service programs and influence cost and quality improvements. The Strategic Sourcing manager is responsible for developing and completing an annual saving plan.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead procurement activities for assigned categories for India and across the world.
Lead RFx’s, bid analysis, purchasing strategies, strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, contract processing and etc.
Draft, negotiate & own the finalization of complex agreements, including developing the negotiation strategies.
Ensure compliance to all Agilent policies including Agilent’s Expense Policy; NAW Policy; IT Risk assessment, Sourcing Engagement policy etc. Ensure all contracts are properly driven in accordance with company policies & uploaded into Agilent’s contract database.
Engage with Business collaborators on a regular basis to plan sourcing, contracting and procurement activities for current as well as future requirements.
Direct and conduct bid/quote collection and contracting activities, using E-sourcing software as appropriate.
Support Category leads by analyzing spend data, create sourcing saving plans and strategies for assigned categories/countries.
Support Global Category Leaders in implementing category strategies in assigned country/region.
Lead/participate in continuous improvement projects
Cultivate and strengthen relationships with suppliers, internal partners, affiliates and professional organizations to bring maximum value to Agilent. You must be a Creative, influential, unselfish problem solver & a Collaborative team player
Monitor and track expiring contracts to develop pro-active plans for renewal/RFP’s.
Conduct supply market analysis, cost modelling and bench-marking
The role will require to work variably in Morning/afternoon/evening shifts as per the requirements of sourcing engagements.
Qualifications

B-Tech; MBA or equivalent with relevant experience in handling RFP for HR, Facility Management, Construction/Office Improvement projects, Travel, Professional Services.

CPSM, C.P.M., C.C.M. certifications highly preferred

Strong Business Acumen and analytical skills

Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to present to various levels and audiences inside and outside of the organization. Experience of developing & presenting proposals to Senior Management

Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.

Typically, a minimum of 4-8 years’ experience in leading Sourcing projects; RFP's; Supplier Negotiations across Indirect spend categories such as Sales & Marketing, Meetings & Events, Professional Services etc. Strong Knowledge of trends in Sales/Marketing category.

Strong negotiation skills and deep understanding of negotiation strategies; professional certifications or training is a plus. Proven ability to negotiate pricing, business and contract terms.

Thorough understanding of contracts with the ability to create, draft, prepare, revise, review and negotiate complex contract terms.

Strong planning/project management skills - ability to set and keep timelines.

Ability to effectively build & manage relationships; Strong organizational and influencing skills across all levels of the organization.

Ability to work across the company culturally and geographically.

Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and the ability to learn proprietary sourcing, purchasing or contracting systems.

Attendance or participation in external industry events and/or membership in sourcing, purchasing or contracting organizations such as ISM or IACCM

Knowledge of Ariba Contracts, e-Sourcing/e-Procurement module is a plus
