Key Responsibilities 

Change management: 

The KPO Lean Leader is in the business of change management and will act as an adviser, trainer, facilitator, coach and catalyst to drive change across the organization. The KPO Lean Leader must be able to influence and align from the shop floor to senior leadership.   

 

Business improvement and curriculum development:  

The KPO Lean Leader will be the company's dedicated Lean technical experts for Asia factories. Among other things, they will help define improvement roadmaps for sites, as well as develop & deliver curriculum to individuals and teams at those sites. 

 

People development and collaboration:  

The kaizen promotion office must collaborate with employees at all levels, They will guide the organization through focused process improvement for shop floor employees, office workers, engineers, and leaders.  This encompasses formal and informal training and development of the workforce at all levels in both the technical and behavioral realm. 

 

Kaizen event management:  

The KPO is the subject matter expert, guardian and facilitator of Kaizen events – extending to strategy, pre-event planning, event execution and follow-through to ensure attainment of targets and long-term sustainment.  This candidate will coach and advise on the selection of improvement projects, preparing the team to execute the event, deliver training before & during the event, facilitate the Kaizen workshop, and ensure closure of actions and achievement of targets following the event.   

 

Daily kaizen deployment: 

The KPO Lean Leader must help the organization transition from event-driven kaizen (events only) to principle-driven kaizen (events and daily kaizen). This means that they must help facilitate the adoption of a Lean management system, assist in the training and development of problem-solving employees, facilitate activities such as mini-kaizens and kaizen circles, and train others to train, facilitate and propagate a daily kaizen culture. 

 

Kaizen office/Lean deployment improvement: 

The KPO should facilitate the improvement of the organization’s kaizen process – both event-based and daily kaizen. Demonstrate the tools that are applicable to all processes and be thought leaders within the company. 

 

Kaizen promotion office ROI: 

While the first six items are qualitative in nature, it is expected that the KPO Lean Leader will demonstrate a very sizable return on investment to the company through the deployment of Kaizen events and activities. The KPO Lean Leader will help to quantify benefits potential and realized from the projects in terms of $ savings (ROI) and/or Metric improvements, obtain sign-off for project closure. 

 

Travel: 

As a global team, there will be events and training that we facilitate across our facilities around the world. Expect travel as much as 25%.   

 

 

Required Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field 

  • At least 7 years of proven track record of leading and/or facilitating kaizen / lean / continuous improvement initiatives 

  • Strong understanding of lean principles and tools- 5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, Root Cause Analysis, 8D, Process / Value Stream Mapping 

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in English  

  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and understand complex data sets 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • At least 10 years experience in opeorations / continuous improvement / lean / kaizen role  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering with experience optimizing layouts & deploying low cost automation 

  • Experience with lean product & process design / development 

  • Kaizen experience in semiconductor/optics/datacom/automotive/technical industry  

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt from a reputed institute or organization preferred
