Divisional Overview:
Global Investment Research division (GIR) delivers value-added research to clients in the equity, fixed income, currency and commodities markets and develops global client-focused research in economics, portfolio strategy, derivatives and equity and credit securities. Our clients use these insights and investment ideas to develop their strategies. GIR produces original, fundamental research and analysis of industries, companies and economies.
Our research teams continually identify and analyses financial information, strategic issues and trends that affect companies, industries and markets on a regional and global scale.
Global Investment Research: Quantum & Verification
Quantum & Verification (Q&V) analysts are responsible for verifying, monitoring, and analyzing company financial and operational data in GIR’s proprietary database, Quantum. Q&V analysts will also be involved in future enhancements to the Quantum database as well as other strategic initiatives of the GIR division. This role is essential to the division’s data quality effort and will serve in a global capacity working closely with analyst teams and global research management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Quantum & Verification team in Bengaluru (reporting into a manager in New York).
- Work closely with Equity Research Analyst teams globally. This involves:
- Integrating and linking standardized contribution sheets into analysts’ company financial models and ensuring data integrity prior to coverage initiation.
- Conducting deep-dive reviews of models and valuation framework for selected models.
- Serving as a key resource for accounting, modeling, and Quantum database-related questions
- Delivering training for campus and lateral hires (in group or one-on-one settings)
- Coordinate and partner with cross-functional teams (including Research Management, Engineering, Data Management, and Digital Content Strategy):
- Provide subject-matter expertise on enhancements to the Quantum database, as well as on data collection efforts.
- Report metrics to key stakeholders on data freshness and quality across the division.
- Develop and maintain relevant knowledge materials and resources
- Support the Global Banking & Markets Division and external clients:
- Respond to requests for published analyst models from external clients and vendors, while ensuring appropriate data quality controls are adhered to.
- Manage and execute data feed requests from Sales and external clients, ensuring appropriate data quality controls are met.
Skills and Qualifications required:
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in finance, accounting, or equity research-oriented roles.
- Proven experience leading and managing teams. • Strong foundation in accounting, financial statements, and financial modeling; familiarity with regulatory filings (e.g., SEC, annual reports).
- Proficiency in Excel and other Office applications.
- Programming experience (Python, VBA) preferred but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on risk management and control.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
