Role Purpose:
The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for leading the design, delivery, and operational excellence of the organisation’s IT infrastructure on a global scale. This includes enterprise services (Microsoft technologies, Email, Active Directory, Entra), on-premises systems (Windows Server, VMware), backup and monitoring technologies, and database environments. The role also encompasses people leadership, stakeholder engagement, and a strong focus on security, service continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
Oversee the management and optimisation of:
Microsoft Azure cloud services
Microsoft 365 suite (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams)
Windows Server infrastructure (AD / Entra, DNS, DHCP, GPO)
VMware virtualisation platforms
Backup technologies (e.g., Dell APEX, Barracuda)
Monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, DataDog)
Ensure infrastructure is secure, resilient, and scalable.
Lead root cause analysis and problem resolution for major incidents.
Drive continuous improvement and automation across infrastructure services.
People & Stakeholder Management
Manage and mentor a team of infrastructure professionals.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.
Engage with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into infrastructure solutions.
Provide clear communication and reporting to senior leadership.
Security & Compliance
Implement and maintain security best practices across all infrastructure layers.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Collaborate with the Cybersecurity team on threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
Service & Change Management
Own infrastructure-related incident, problem, and change management processes.
Ensure timely resolution of incidents and effective communication during outages.
Lead infrastructure components of change initiatives and projects.
Project Oversight & Risk Management
Provide technical oversight and governance for infrastructure projects.
Identify and manage risks related to infrastructure operations and changes.
Support project teams with infrastructure planning, resource allocation, and delivery assurance.
Accurate estimations or work and resources
Audit & Compliance Support
Lead and coordinate IT infrastructure audits across global regions, ensuring timely response to audit findings and implementation of remediation plans.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide evidence, documentation, and technical insights for global infrastructure systems.
Maintain audit readiness by ensuring systems, processes, and documentation meet regulatory and internal standards.
Support global teams in addressing audit actions, tracking progress, and reporting on compliance status.
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience in managing enterprise infrastructure environments.
Strong technical expertise in:
Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, VMware
Backup technologies
Observability and monitoring technologies
Experience in leading teams and mentoring technical staff.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Security-focused mindset with knowledge of best practices and frameworks.
Solid understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change).
Experience in project oversight, ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
Experience driving automation, orchestration and self-service to improve efficiency
Risk management, and compliance frameworks in a global context.
Understanding of audit processes, supporting internal and external audits for IT infrastructure across multiple regions or countries.

Qualifications:
Degree or relevant in role experience
+5 years in operations at a senior level
+5 years’ experience of direct line management of people
Experience in matrix management
Certifications in Microsoft technologies.
Desirable experience in project management
