Do you thrive on turning complex safety regulations into practical solutions that make a meaningful impact? Are you energized by supporting international logistics, distribution networks, and cross-border compliance? Do you want to contribute to safe, compliant, and future‑proof operations within a global organization?

We are looking for a Global HSE /DG Lead with deep knowledge of EU occupational safety and Dangerous Goods compliance, to strengthen our global operations.

What is your role?

As HSE / DG Lead, you serve as the technical authority for occupational health & safety and Dangerous Goods (DG) across our EU and international distribution network. You work closely with Operations, Logistics, Quality, and Regulatory teams to interpret legislation, assess risks, and ensure our activities meet all relevant EU directives, chemical regulations, and transport requirements.

This is a non-people-leading role in which you influence stakeholders through expertise and collaboration. You translate complex regulatory frameworks into clear, actionable guidance and help build a strong, consistent safety culture across multiple EU countries.

In this role, you act as the key expert driving safe, compliant, and future‑proof operations across our network/across multiple EU countries. This includes:

1. EU Occupational Health & Safety Compliance

You ensure our operations meet the highest EU safety standards. You make impact by:

  • Being the go‑to expert on EU OHS legislation.
  • Securing compliance with REACH, CLP, Seveso III, and related directives.
  • Translating regulatory updates into practical procedures.
  • Running EU‑wide safety audits and improving standards.

2. Dangerous Goods (DG) Expertise

You safeguard compliant and safe handling, storage, and transport of hazardous materials. You play a key role in:

  • Acting as DGSA for ADR, IMDG, and IATA.
  • Ensuring correct DG product classification, shipment labeling, and transport documentation.
  • Review new onboarded DG assortment and ensuring DG compliance
  • Managing DG training and supporting inspections.

3. Risk Management & Operational Safety/Environment part

You identify risks early and help create safer, more resilient operations, by:

  • Leading risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Driving corrective and preventive actions.
  • Advising on warehouse safety design and hazardous materials storage.
  • Developing and implementing  and maintaining dangerous goods management systems,
  • CSR expertise and support
  • Supporting new product introductions with safety insights.

4. Advisory & Cross‑Functional Support

You empower teams across the business to work safely and compliantly. This includes:

  • Providing regulatory guidance to Operations, Logistics, and Quality.
  • Supporting ISO 45001 implementation.
  • Representing the company during regulatory inspections.
  • Delivering safety and DG training and driving continuous improvement.

Who are you?

For this role, you bring:

You are a technically strong EU safety and Dangerous Goods expert who thrives as an individual contributor. You influence others through expertise rather than hierarchy and enjoy building a strong, consistent safety culture across the organisation. Additionally, you recognize yourself in the following requirements:

· 7+ years of experience in safety and Dangerous Goods compliance within EU logistics, warehousing, or international distribution.

·  A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

·  Strong working knowledge of EU chemical and transport legislation and experience operating in multi‑country regulatory environments.

·  Demonstrated ability to operate independently as a technical authority in safety‑critical settings.

·  Strong stakeholder management skills, building effective collaboration across teams and countries.

·  Solid connective leadership and project management capabilities, enabling you to guide processes and align stakeholders without formal authority.

·  Proven ability to develop, maintain, and improve safety policies, procedures, and standards.

·  A continuous improvement mindset, contributing to innovation and higher safety maturity across the organisation.

Required & preferred certifications/qualifications:

Required:

  • Certified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (ADR DGSA – EU compliant).
  • Valid IATA and IMDG certifications (depending on role scope).

Preferred:

  • A recognised EU safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent).
  • Knowledge and experience in a Seveso company
  • Lead Auditor certification.

What do we offer?

We are an ambitious, fast-growing and financially sound organization. You can obviously expect:

  • 25 vacation days and 12 ADV days (based on a fulltime contract)
  • Flexible working policy in hours and location
  • Profit sharing bonus
  • Travel- and working-from-home allowance
  • Great budget for training and courses
  • Generous pension plan
