Description of Position

To support the growth and success of TPG, the team seeks to recruit a Global Head of Events. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Real Estate and Corporate Services, and will help to define, execute and enhance the firm’s corporate events strategy. The successful candidate will foster a positive, effective work environment conducive to open communications, taking initiatives and driving innovation.

The Head of Events will interface regularly with other members of the senior leadership team in his/her role and will act as a trusted business advisor whose opinion is sought and respected. TPG cultivates a flat organizational structure whereby entrepreneurial spirited individuals are encouraged to innovate and challenge new ideas.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Conduct short-term and long-term planning and management for events including annual investor meetings, portfolio company meetings and events, firm offsites and Partner meetings
  • Developing and executing a comprehensive global events strategy that aligns with the company's brand, marketing goals, and business objectives
  • Engaging with senior stakeholders to ensure their event needs and expectations are met
  • Manage end to end event processes including venue searches, contract negotiations, registration and technology, planning and logistics (requirements for meeting space, sleeping rooms, food & beverage, audio/visual/production, entertainment), speakers, on-site operational management
  • Provide on-site program management at events with travel required, including internationally.
  • Lead the budgeting process for all firm events, including creation, oversight, financial accountability, and coordination of all associated communications.
  • Liaison and collaborate with all relevant internal and external clients and vendors
  • Leading and developing a team of event coordinators and other event professionals globally

Requirements 

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in event/conference planning and project management experience, ideally in the financial services industry, across a broad range of events from large, multi-day events to intimate dinners including:
    • Up to five Multi-day Annual General Meetings for TPG investors for various TPG funds annually
    • Global Partner meetings
    • Portfolio Company C-Suite summits
    • Internal strategy sessions and offsites
    • Holiday parties for each TPG office
    • Internal promotion events and new hire orientations
  • Ability to travel on site to global events and the related diligence, flexibility to work extended hours if needed
  • Strong leadership and project management and facilitation skills; highly motivated and results driven; extremely organized, detail-oriented approach to projects
  • Outstanding communication skills with ability to instill trust and motivate outside vendor partners and internal stakeholders
  • Experience working with high level/senior executives
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as a team member and to maintain a strong service orientation
  • Ability to bring creativity and implement a cohesive branding strategy to build on and improve events of prior years
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, managing several projects simultaneously and remaining calm under pressure

It is expected that the annual base salary for this role will range from $250,000-$300,000. Base salary is one component of TPG’s competitive total rewards package which typically includes discretionary compensation, comprehensive health benefits, and paid time off. Other incentives may also be available to certain eligible employees.
