SIL is seeking a Global Finance Coordinator to join SIL’s Global Finance team. This dynamic role partners with another Global Finance Coordinator as a vital liaison to 36 overseas entities and directly supports the Global Administration finance leadership team.The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities, a sharp attention to detail, and the capacity to balance multiple strategic projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary accounting consultant and advisor for assigned Area Finance Coordinators.
- Provide guidance and direction to overseas financial operations on policy, procedures, compliance with U.S. GAAP and tax laws, and timely month-end and year-end closings.
- *Serve as an active member of the Global Finance Leaders Team to help shape worldwide accounting policies and procedures.
- Support the year-end closing and annual audit preparation processes.
- Assist with annual IRS filings and regulatory compliance as needed.
- Coordinate global accounting changes driven by GAAP updates, tax changes, and changes in SIL structures, strategies, and policies.
- Collaborate on the development and maintenance of the global accounting manual.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of training materials and resources for international accounting staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Five or more years of accounting experience, preferably nonprofit
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, and experience with accounting software, preferably NetSuite
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments, and to meet established deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer service orientation
- Exhibit sound judgment
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar work experience
