Job Summary
The Red Hat Marketing Communications team is looking for a Marketing Events Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC, Boston, MA or Washington, DC. In this role, you will work closely with event team leadership as well as other stakeholders to plan and implement Red Hat’s sponsorship of third-party events. You will utilize marketing strategies and open source technology knowledge to deliver exceptional events on behalf of Red Hat while collaborating in a cross-functional team environment.
What you will do
Collaborate with event team colleagues, as well as work independently, to manage the execution of third party events. Execution consisting of planning, implementation, and post-event logistics for in-person third-party events.
Willingness to develop an in-depth knowledge of technology and open source communities with the intention of helping to distill complex knowledge into simplified, accessible content for general audiences
Cultivate strong, collaborative and effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and partners
Create and implement email campaigns, social media campaigns, and event websites related to the event
Maintain knowledge of event industry trends and best practices to incorporate into future planning
Manage event budgets, post-event metrics and reporting
Manage all aspects of event fulfillment from contract negotiation to post-event follow up including budget, staffing, brand presence, on-site logistics, and lead generation activities
Collaborate both with event team leadership and stakeholders across the company to develop creative event marketing campaigns and plans that align with our overall team strategy and brand
Work with cross-functional teams like product management, marketing, sales, and internal agency to ensure that event messaging, deliverables, post-event analysis, and tactics are delivered according to strategy
What you will bring
4-6 years of experience in event strategy, management and execution
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a comparable degree
Project management with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously consisting of various cross-functional teams and vendors
Creative thinking with the ability to explore and implement a modern or unconventional approach to problem solving
An innovation driven mindset
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Outstanding problem solving, communication, and presentation skills
Self-driven with the ability to perform well under pressure
Ability to problem-solve in fast-changing and fluid situations
Skilled in process documentation and guideline creation
Comfort with working in a variety of cultural contexts internationally
Comfort with strong relationship building and providing consulting to senior leadership
Knowledge of open source software is a plus
Familiarity with different marketing and social media software such as Salesforce, Workfront, Marketo, Tableau, Drupal, Sprout Social, X and Instagram
Must be able to travel as needed; up to 30%, both internationally and domestically
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

The salary range for this position is $79,070.00 - $126,500.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
