Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Global Employee Development Specialist. This role can be located at one of the following locations: Midland, MI, Houston, TX, Terneuzen, Netherlands, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Shanghai, China or Mumbai, India.

About you and this role

As part of HR's global Talent Management & Learning (TM&L) team, this role is a key enabler to advance our Development for All strategy through exceptional expertise, best in class consultation and service delivery through Dow's employee development portfolio and program offerings. In this role, you will require in-depth talent development background to analyze and resolve complex problems, examine information from multiple sources and external vendors, use judgement to evaluate established and new solutions with a skill-based and digital approach.

You will need to understand talent management best practices and how they relate to other HR disciplines. You will lead global implementation projects with manageable risks and resource requirements, as well as serve as a resource and coach for other colleagues. You should also be able to explain difficult or sensitive information and work to build consensus with others. Your performance impacts a wide range of stakeholders, operational, project, or service activities within the talent space and other related teams requiring working within established governance, guidelines, and policies.

Role requires a robust talent development network and willingness to provide feedback and guidance to key stakeholders on development programs aligned to Dow's global strategy and governance guidelines. In addition, works closely with other global TM&L specialists, the Talent Center of Expertise (CoE) Team, the Modernizing Workforce Capabilities Program, Regional TM&L teams, HR Directors, the HR Partner network, and Functional Learning & Development Leaders to support an articulated All Employee Development approach.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the global Employee Development Annual Offerings & Coordination. Also accountable for enhancement and innovative projects aligned to the employee development portfolio.
  • Partners with regional TM&L teams to guarantee global framework and foundations are consistently enabled through local priorities aligned to employee development experience.
  • Provides continuous consultation support in the employee development journey space across stakeholders (Ex: Business, Functions, OOI & Employee Resource Group (ERG) and EX programs).
  • Accountable for the Global Education Assistance Program (GEAP/GLEAP) management including governance and run the business execution.
  • Responsible for the global governance, corporate consultation and run the business management of Coursera learning platform.
  • Leads annual global execution for the Facilitator Network Program consistently implemented across regions to enable the skill-based development workshop/ course offering.
  • Provides guidance and expertise consultancy for functional L&D leaders on global strategy and model leverage approach.
  • Acts as primary point-of-contact for corporate mentorship, coaching and sponsorship foundations, framework and MyHRPortal capabilities to be leveraged out of corporate programs into regional, functional and OOI/EX programs.
  • Oversights end-to-end solution in MyHRPortal Career Navigation, including Gigs, Mentorships, and data insights space to deliver a best-in-class experience.
  • Partners with key stakeholders providing consultation and ROI metric inputs on specific Talent Management Programs for requirements such as ESG Intersection Report, Employer Awards/External Reputation reports among others. Works in partnership with regional Employer Awards cross-discipline teams and Global I&D Insights Leader on strategy alignment.
  • Engage in improving Knowledge Base and Case Management content for assigned scope, based on experience.
  • Engages in and drives overall continuous improvement processes for the Employee Development Portfolio partnering across Talent Management & Learning aligned to global People and Culture priorities.
  • Engages with Sourcing team, HR Data Privacy and third-party providers to establish, develop and review the suite of services in the Employee Development portfolio space.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, Statistics, or Related field or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in talent development and/or focused work including skill-based development program management and execution or relevant experience related to talent programs.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Project management experience and or certification.
  • Ability to multi-task and to work under pressure to tight deadlines, budgets, and targets.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to provide top-notch customer service.

Preferred Skills

  • L&D platform governance and management (ex: Coursera)
  • ROI metrics implementation experience
  • Experience on employee development assessments and talent workforce insights.
  • Experience and familiarity with use of technology such as Workday or similar HRMS, Talent Marketplaces, Learning Management Systems
  • Oral and written communication with ability to present and communicate effectively at all employee levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder management (including external vendors and consultants) are critical.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, research and data analysis skills.
