Job Description Summary:
As our manufacturing network grows in complexity, speed, and technological sophistication, this role plays a critical part in ensuring quality and food safety are engineered, predictive, and digitally enabled.
This Global Director Quality Engineering position provides enterprise engineering and systems leadership to transform Quality and Food Safety through Quality 4.0, advanced automation, AI‑enabled analytics, and disciplined engineering fundamentals—including the enterprise deployment and continuous evolution of QEdge as our digital Quality platform. The role strengthens global quality capability by architecting scalable, prevention‑focused systems that reduce Cost of Quality, improve process capability, and enable consistent first‑time‑right execution across Company manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineer and systems thinker with deep experience in manufacturing, automation, and process control, who brings thought leadership, credibility, and influence to shape how quality—including QEdge—is designed, measured, and improved across a global system.
What You’ll Do for Us
- Lead the enterprise Quality Engineering and Quality 4.0 strategy, defining how Quality by Design, digital, automation, analytics, and AI are applied to strengthen food safety, product quality, reliability, and Cost of Quality performance across manufacturing operations.
- Spearhead the vision, development, and deployment of QEdge as the Company’s foundational digital quality platform—enabling real-time data acquisition, predictive analytics, and connectivity across Quality, Food Safety, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain systems.
- Serve as the global technical authority and subject‑matter expert for quality engineering, process capability, and digital quality systems (including QEdge), partnering closely with Quality, Food Safety, Operations, Engineering, and Digital teams.
- Architect and standardize engineered quality systems, including digital SPC, automated process controls, advanced risk sensing, and real‑time performance monitoring via QEdge and other enabling platforms, ensuring earlier detection, prediction, and prevention of quality and food safety risks.
- Drive Cost of Quality (CoQ) transformation, revamp and execute the enterprise CoQ frameworks, improving financial visibility to quality losses, and leading multi‑site programs to shift investment upstream into prevention and automation—leveraging QEdge insights to guide decision-making.
- Champion the integration of automation, machine vision, sensors, and advanced analytics into manufacturing and packaging processes, leveraging QEdge capabilities to reduce variability, eliminate manual inspection dependencies, and improve consistency and compliance.
- Provide engineering leadership to embed process capability, control strategies, and prevention‑focused design into equipment standards, process designs, and operating models, with QEdge as the enabler—reducing reliance on end‑of‑line inspection.
- Partner with Digital and IT teams to define quality data architecture, system interoperability (QMS, MES, historians, ERP), data integrity, and governance for digital and AI‑enabled quality solutions, ensuring the QEdge platform integrates seamlessly with the broader digital ecosystem.
- Lead enterprise‑level complex problem solving and technical escalation for critical quality and food safety issues, using advanced root cause analysis, statistical methods, and engineering validation—underpinned by insights and traceability provided by QEdge.
- Develop and deploy business‑relevant performance metrics, dashboards, and analytics, translating quality performance into operational and financial insights, using QEdge to surface leading indicators of risk and effectiveness of controls.
- Build global quality capability by coaching and enabling regional and plant Quality and Food Safety SMEs in engineering‑led problem solving, statistical thinking, and digital quality adoption—using QEdge as the central platform for capability-building.
- Collaborate with internal and external technical partners, suppliers, and equipment manufacturers to influence technology development and ensure solutions—including QEdge—are fit‑for‑purpose, scalable, and aligned with Company standards.
- Represent the Company as a thought leader in internal and external forums, manufacturing reviews, and technical communities, sharing best practices and advancing the future of quality and food safety, with QEdge at the forefront of digital transformation.
