We are looking for an experienced banker who will be a key member of the GCB FIG business in EMEA.
Job Summary:
As an Executive Director in our Nordic FIG coverage team, you will be an experienced banker responsible for managing and developing certain key client relationships in the Nordics across J.P. Morgan's broad suite of products in close alignment and cooperation with global product and coverage partners.
This role will be within our Financial Institutions Group (FIG) team & it will be based in Stockholm or alternatively Copenhagen.
Part of the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB), Global Corporate Banking (GCB) is an organization that manages J.P. Morgan's overall relationships with large and mid-cap corporate, financial institutions and public sector clients globally. GCB alongside Global Investment Banking and Commercial Banking forms the Global Banking franchise within the CIB.
In GCB we help our clients meet their objectives in financing and capital, risk management, payments and liquidity, asset servicing and other areas, working closely alongside Global Investment Banking to deliver the full spectrum of J.P. Morgan's CIB offering. Clients benefit from dedicated coverage provided by experienced corporate bankers, who deliver the firm with its extensive global capabilities and presence.
Job responsibilities:
- Have direct responsibility for select client relationships including some of J.P. Morgan's most important Nordic headquartered FIG clients.
- Develop and execute the client strategy working closely with GCB executives, Global Investment Banking coverage partners and product specialists to pitch for new engagements, develop client relationships and defend existing business.
- Work across Global Banking, Markets and Securities Services plus Asset Management leading the client team to deliver the firm on select accounts, coordinate the tailored origination of solutions, identify and address client needs.
- Originate and help execute bank and capital market financings
- Manage the balance sheet approval and other risk/credit management processes where applicable as well as act as the first line of defence more broadly for continuous credit quality monitoring and risk management incl. KYC/AML aspects alongside risk partners across J.P. Morgan.
- Build and leverage close relationships with key senior client stakeholders, be accountable for client portfolio revenue and profitability performance of client relationships under coverage.
- Assume responsibility for onboarding of new target clients, build and present respective business cases to relevant internal partners and committees as applicable.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Extensive banking experience with a proven ability to develop FIG client relationships, win new business, close transactions and build networks, both internally and externally.
- Ability to create, develop and maintain trusted client relationships and possessing valuable professional networks, ideally with the Nordic FIG client set.
- Ability to navigate across large organisations to get things done and broker information across the firm; ability to form strong partnerships and work in environments where there are multiple, overlapping stakeholders. Proven track record of collaboration in a complex diverse corporate environment.
- Good understanding of the key areas of banking ideally including capital markets, bank lending, liquidity & cash management, hedging & execution, securities services and asset management. Familiarity with J.P. Morgan's broad institutional product offering would be a plus.
- Ability to develop viable strategies to grow the overall business with the FIG client set, as well as take pragmatic steps to execute these strategies.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. A creative, innovative team player with leadership potential.
- Proven ability to delegate as needed and pay attention to detail while maintaining a high level of productivity will be important.
- Solid credit knowledge. Proven quantitative and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in presentations, express strategies in an organized and articulate manner.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
