Marsh is currently seeking candidates for our open Global Continuous Improvement Senior Specialist – Accounting Operations position. The role will be part of the Accounting Operations team and will report directly to the Accounting Manager. This role is a hybrid role at our Urbandale, Iowa location.
What you can expect
- The Accounting Operations Continuous Improvement team is responsible for supporting and driving the execution of continuous improvement, cross-functional programs and change initiatives within the organization
- The team is comprised of professionals with program management, change management, business process improvement, Agile methodology, and systems assessment competencies who work in partnership with key Accounting Operations leaders to drive scale, agility, and operational efficiency
- As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will serve as a strategic leader within this team, taking ownership of major initiatives and operating with significant independence and authority to shape organizational transformation
We’ll count on you to:
- Work with Senior Management, develop, set the pace, and implement business transformational and continuous improvement strategy with sensitivity toward the organizational structure, commercial approach, culture, people, and processes.
- Design and lead deployment of the Lean framework across business units, ensuring consistent and rigorous application in line with best practices, while mentoring teams on methodology adoption.
- Be responsible for the successful implementation of business improvement projects/initiatives across the business by developing an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible team, and building working relationships, ensuring that Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Champion the architecture and design of enterprise accounting applications, serving as a key strategic partner and thought leader across platform engineering, UX, product management, and senior leadership.
- Drive for Results - Lead cross-functional partnerships with Business Operations and Information Systems, serving as a strategic contributor to roadmap development, application architecture decisions, capacity planning, and resource allocation to ensure efficient delivery of quality products.
- Continually develop tech skills - Keep abreast of the latest trends in billing and payment domains and incorporate insights into strategic recommendations and design output.
- Perform complex systems analysis and solution design on the Billing & Payments platform and software applications within the organization to help design business processes.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture and development teams to identify and evaluate new tools and technologies, assure strategy alignment, establish best practices, and champion adoption of common components across the organization.
- Lead and mentor colleagues on continuous improvement principles, providing expert guidance on process improvement methodologies, best practices, and the practical application of tools and techniques.
What you’ll need to have:
- A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- A minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training
What makes you stand out:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in leading large-scale Finance process improvements and automation. Domain expertise with Order to Cash (O2C/OTC) is preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in high-growth and industry-leading PaaS/SaaS companies is preferred
- Advanced experience in the use of process improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, and related approaches (Kaizen and Root Cause Analysis), with the ability to develop organizational strategy around continuous improvement approaches
- Working knowledge of data analysis, process mining, and visualization tools, including Microsoft Power BI, Tableau
- Functional experience with database and spreadsheet software, such as MySQL and Excel
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, Business Process Professional (CBPP®) or Certified Business Leader (CBPL™) Qualification is preferred
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
