THE ROLE & THE TEAM

This role sits in the Global Planning and Trading team in the Markets Planning & Trading organisation, a cross-markets commercial and business planning department that plans and drives the commercial performance of Zalando across all European markets. As part of the Global Planning & Trading Team, we oversee cross-markets topline planning, forecasting and decision making, and act as a direct link between local markets, key functions (such as Supply, Pricing, Marketing, Finance, Logistics) and management.

We are looking for a Global Commercial Planning Manager for driving planning and forecasting, monitoring the sales of Zalando and analysing the impact of drivers on business performance on a global level. The role reports to the Team Lead Global Planning & Trading.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • You will support the topline planning and forecasting processes for Zalando fashion store across all local markets, working with various commercial and finance functions such as Supply, Finance, Pricing, Logistics and Marketing.

  • You will work closely with the Team Lead Global Planning & Trading and (Sr.) Global Planning Managers. You will be supporting them with your analytical skills and business acumen on commercial and strategic topics, and as a business planning and forecasting expert. 

  • You will support the Market teams on forecasting and performance reporting, and you will be constantly involved in short and long term trading decisions to drive Zalando’s commercial success.

  • You will participate in key commercial events such as MSS, EoSS, Cyber Days etc. You will support the regular monitoring of the performance of these events and facilitating the trading decisions to reach commercial targets.

  • You will drive cross-market analysis and global strategic projects with high commercial impact, and you will work closely with the global markets teams (Markets Planning & Trading Leads, Pricing and Marketing Leads, Business Finance Partners). 

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You have MBA or Master’s in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Management or comparable qualification. You have gained 3+ years of work experience in consumer-oriented commercial, financial or highly analytical roles.

  • You are a strategic commercial thinker with impressive analytical skills and critical thinking mindset. You have strong skills in GSuite, knowledge of Microstrategy and SQL is a strong plus.

  • You have a good understanding of the Fashion e-commerce, customer behavior and P&L structure in a retailing environment.

  • You have great communication skills and can drive projects with different teams across the organization.

  • You are business-fluent in English.
