Overview of the Role
Given the growth of the Nordic business, an opportunity has arisen for a Sales Associate to support the Nordic distribution team within Nuveen’s Global Client Group. The role is based out of Copenhagen with primary focus on Denmark/Norway but will support the wider Nordic Distribution team which includes colleagues in Stockholm. The sales support function is an integral part of the client journey. As the team expands, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a collegiate environment to help drive sales and deliver a purposeful client experience. The distribution team works closely with institutional investors, their investment advisors, as well as platforms.
The role would offer an opportunity to work with the largest institutional investors, across the broadest possible set of investment products. The successful candidate will also be able to build on their experience through training in product knowledge, process & systems, and relationship management skills.
Key responsibilities

Proactively identify new business opportunities and stay abreast of incumbent manager searches;

Understand current and new client relationships, their asset allocation preferences and assisting sales team with upcoming trends and investment behaviours through market research via industry databases (e.g. Mandatewire, pensionfundsonline and Preqin);

Support sales leads with meeting preparation for external clients (collating background information on previous meetings, and prospect/client information) and help prepare presentations;

Update information following client meetings including documenting notes into CRM Tool (Salesforce) and action on follow-ups;

Oversee the coordination of key meetings / events with clients and prospects, attending relevant meetings/conferences;

Respond to client requests and manage client communications efforts, where necessary;

Coordinate the Request for Proposal process, working with investment affiliates to cover breadth of investment products and solutions;

Oversee the on-boarding and oversight of new clients through the relevant due diligence and AML processes;

Maintain client / internal information in CRM tool (Salesforce) and across various databases and systems;

Develop strong internal relationships with portfolio managers, product specialists and other teams globally to enhance delivery of our services to clients;

Assist with the preparation of business planning material to communicate our Nordic distribution strategy internally;

Support the team on minor office administration work;

Standard reporting and ad hoc support responsibilities across the business channels and management; and

Work closely with the marketing team on new product launch initiatives, client events and communications.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

Asset management background preferred
-
Relevant academic and/or professional qualifications (e.g. CFA, CAIA) advantageous

Nordic language skills essential, with a preference for Danish and/or Norwegian
-
Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with all levels of management, including executive management of the firm, as well as external clients

Proficiency in MS Office product suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required

Professional and industrious attitude, possessing energy and confidence to complete projects with limited supervision

Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment with the ability to build strong relationships across the global team

Take initiative and develop creative solutions for solving problems

Ability to handle large volumes of work and prioritize appropriately, meet tight deadlines, and possess strong attention to detail

Utilize qualitative and quantitative tools to analyse, synthesize and interpret information, and communicate it clearly and succinctly with internal and external clients

Possess a partnership mind-set and engage with teams across the firm
