Global Category Manager
We will count on you to:
Influence stakeholders across the Technology and Digital functions to make strategic and cost-effective software purchasing decisions. Define current and future commodity category strategies within scope of responsibility. Gain an understanding of current spend category landscape, identify key areas of opportunity, and build trusted advisor stakeholder relationships. Perform rigorous analysis of market drivers, cost structures, direct/indirect buying options, competitive landscape, and M&A activity to maintain a current understanding of the trends in the IT hardware and infrastructure supply markets in general and specifically the impacts of trends upon company operations. Formulate strategic sourcing options, model and analyze each option and recommend sourcing strategies that will secure differential value for each of the product and service categories. Lead cross-functional teams in negotiating appropriate agreements with suppliers as well as supporting legal in finalizing and executing contracts, including defining and executing appropriate sourcing tactics in negotiating agreements with respective suppliers. Structure requirements and request data from existing and prospective suppliers for evaluation, review proposals, perform cost/value analysis of vendor’s products and services, and develop materials to communicate comparative results to cross-functional sourcing team. Maintain strong, trusting, consultative relationships with technology, legal, financial and operations teams and the executive leadership team.
What you need to have:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in any field plus seven (7) years of experience in the position offered or a related position. Must have seven (7) years of experience in a global procurement role with all of the following: Sourcing IT hardware including networking equipment, EUC devices, converged infrastructure, infrastructure software and related hardware and software maintenance; Leading RFP activity liaising with senior stakeholders in vendor selection and contract implementation; Leading negotiation of mobility and identity management provider contracts with global vendors including Vodafone, AT&T, Orange, T-Mobile, and Okta; Performing contract review and drafting terms including SLAs ensuring optimal commercial outcome; Leading negotiation for renewal and implementation of SaaS agreements ensuring that internal governance processes are adhered to; Using Microsoft Office, including Excel, to produce complex cost analysis of vendor proposals for stakeholder review.
