Role Purpose

This role serves as the Global Procurement leader for the Sales & Distributor Services and Marketing Operations (SDS-MOPS) organization within MedTech, accountable for translating commercial priorities into procurement-led value creation, competitive advantage, and operational excellence globally.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Business Partnership & Commercial Alignment

  • Act as the senior Procurement partner to MedTech commercial leadership teams.
  • Translate commercial growth priorities into procurement strategies that support market expansion, distributor effectiveness, customer engagement, and commercial excellence.
  • Provide strategic procurement guidance to regional and country leadership teams.
  • Shape procurement priorities that enable sustainable competitive advantage and support business transformation initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across commercial, finance, marketing, and regional leadership organizations.

Category Strategy & Procurement Leadership

  • Lead development and execution of SDS-MOPS category strategies.
  • Identify emerging industry trends and market dynamics that should be incorporated into procurement strategies in support of business priorities.
  • Drive supplier segmentation, category governance, demand management, sustainability, and digital and AI optimisation across all areas.
  • Align regional business needs with global procurement priorities.
  • Establish category roadmaps that balance cost optimization, innovation, risk management, and supplier performance.

Supplier Relationship Management & Strategic Sourcing

  • Lead strategic supplier relationship management for key segmented suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain long-term supplier partnerships that support business growth and innovation.
  • Conduct complex commercial negotiations and provide sourcing recommendations for executive approval.
  • Drive global and regional cross-market sourcing initiatives, guiding RFI, RFQ, and RFP programs.
  • Ensure supplier ecosystems remain competitive, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.

Value Delivery & Performance Management

  • Deliver measurable procurement value through strategic sourcing, supplier performance improvement, and commercial innovation.
  • Establish performance metrics linking procurement outcomes to business objectives.
  • Own and drive achievement of procurement savings, productivity, and value creation targets.
  • Shape annual and multi-year value delivery roadmaps.
  • Own delivery of procurement value through structural cost reduction, demand management, and reinvestment for growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influencing

  • Foster collaboration across global, regional, and local procurement organizations.
  • Lead knowledge sharing and development of category expertise across regional procurement teams.
  • Coordinate with Global Category Leaders, Regional Procurement Leads, and business stakeholders to ensure strategy alignment and execution across categories.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across complex organizational structures.

Innovation, Digital & Future-Ready Procurement

  • Leverage market intelligence, supplier innovation, and emerging technologies to improve business outcomes.
  • Embed digital capabilities, analytics, automation, and AI into procurement strategies and supplier solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve procurement effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance speed, quality, simplification, and decision-making.
  • Position Procurement as a strategic enabler of MedTech commercial transformation.

Organizational Leadership & Change Management

  • Drive adoption of new operating models through strong change management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Influence stakeholders to adopt new operating models, sourcing approaches, and supplier strategies.
  • Build organizational capability through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
  • Ensure Procurement remains responsive to changing business needs and external market conditions.

Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive procurement, category management, or commercial leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading regional or global category strategies.
  • Proven track record managing complex supplier ecosystems and strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Experience influencing senior executive stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies.
  • Experience leading transformation, change management, and organizational improvement initiatives.

Preferred:

  • Demonstrates understanding of AI concepts and frameworks, including awareness of responsible and ethical AI practices, and has experience generating effective prompts to boost efficiency and productivity.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€119’200.00 - €204’355.00

Benefits:

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
