Job Summary

The Business Development Director, Global Compounds drives profitable growth by identifying new market opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and validating regional pricing strategies. This role leads the development of the long-term business strategy in partnership with regional leaders and the Asset Strategy Leader to ensure a coordinated, global approach. The position is accountable for building and advancing the M&A pipeline, monitoring market trends, and conducting competitive analysis. In addition, the role provides leadership for global accounts and strengthens commercial execution by developing and implementing sales tools, training, and processes to improve effectiveness across the sales organization. This position directly manages global sales, market managers and the Sales Excellence Leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the development of the long-term strategy and translate it into actionable plans across the business.
  • Lead the strategy development process, aligning stakeholders and ensuring clear priorities and milestones.
  • Lead the M&A pipeline, including target identification and evaluation, due diligence, financial/strategic assessment, recommendation development, and integration planning.
  • Develop and maintain market intelligence across Healthcare, Automotive, Building & Construction, and Consumer Products; anticipate trends and implement strategies to deliver profitable growth.
  • Manage strategic global accounts and align account plans with regional sales managers.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to serve customers and execute regional and global business strategies.
  • Deliver profitable growth across the Healthcare, Automotive, and Building & Construction/Consumer Products (BCCP) segments.
  • Maintain deep market knowledge and provide ongoing analysis of competitive dynamics and key players.
  • Identify market trends and ideate R&D pipeline for organic gowth.  Assist in business case commercialization plans for new product introduction.
  • Uphold organizational integrity by ensuring alignment with company values, policies, and legal requirements.
  • Ensure all products and marketing activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • An undergraduate degree in business, marketing or finance.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field a plus.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience of experience in sales, account management, or business development, featuring a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets, closing complex deals, and managing teams
  • Strong financial acumen is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk and climb; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and infrequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.   The employee must frequently make minor decisions with limited information, general decisions in the absence of specific directions, and perform activities requiring sustained concentration.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is sometimes moderate when working in an office, however, some of the work may be required in the operating units which mandates usage of required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  During active remediation additional requirements may include fit testing for respiratory equipment, chemical suits, face shields, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs.  Moderate travel (20-40%) may be required in the performance of duties.
