Job Description:Purpose: The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records through timely completion of month-end close activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards (US GAAP). This role serves as a key contributor within the accounting function, partnering with cross-functional teams to provide financial insight, resolve accounting issues, and support continuous process improvement initiatives.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
General Ledger & Month-End Close
- Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities according to established deadlines.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through accurate and timely transaction processing.
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances from budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages.
Account Reconciliations & Analysis
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
- Review and analyze income statement and balance sheet accounts for accuracy and completeness.
- Support working capital analysis, cash flow reporting, and financial trend analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Compliance & Reporting
- Support external audit requests.
- Assist with tax, regulatory, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Ensure adherence to US GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
- Maintain documentation supporting accounting transactions and financial reporting.
Business Partnership
- Collaborate with departments including Operations, HR, Supply Chain, and Finance to resolve accounting issues.
- Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities as needed.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiencies.
- Participate in system implementations, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
- Assist in enhancing internal controls and standardizing accounting procedures.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Timeliness and accuracy of reporting
- Support to management and other departments
- Effective analysis, recommendations, and decision-making
- Effective continuous improvement efforts for processes and workflows
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA certified (or in progress)
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience in a multi-plant manufacturing company
- Exposure to Cost Accounting
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems (JDE, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
- Experience in a multi-plant manufacturing company
- Exposure to Cost Accounting
