We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Analyst to join our team in the occupier real estate industry. The GIS Analyst will be responsible for developing GIS databases, conducting spatial analyses, and producing maps and other graphic displays of geospatial data to support real estate strategies and decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cartography, geospatial analysis, and GIS technology, including proficiency in GIS software. You should be able to analyze complex information and make decisions regarding the most effective methods of presentation.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect geographical data from various sources such as satellite imaging, aerial photography, and existing maps.
- Conduct spatial analysis to determine patterns and trends in geographical data, particularly in relation to real estate occupancy and utilization.
- Design and maintain databases for storing GIS data relevant to real estate properties and portfolios.
- Create maps and graphs using GIS software and data collection equipment to visualize real estate data.
- Present data in a clear and concise way, such as through detailed maps or reports, to support real estate strategy and decision-making.
- Integrate GIS with other software for purposes such as data management and analysis in the context of real estate.
- Assist in the development of GIS project strategies and goals specific to real estate occupancy planning and management.
- Provide technical support for GIS software users within the real estate team.
- Train new users on how to use GIS technology and software for real estate applications.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in the field of GIS technology and real estate industry trends.
- Collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and other professionals to achieve project objectives in the real estate sector.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in GIS analysis or a related field, preferably within the real estate industry.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with database management and spatial data analysis.
- Knowledge of cartographic principles and spatial data visualization techniques.
- Analytical skills and techniques, including deep statistical knowledge, big data knowledge, visualization, and data exploration.
- Experience with R/Python/SQL, Alteryx, and/or Azure/AWS preferred.
- Ability to handle large amounts of data, identify key information, and provide insightful recommendations to all levels within the organization with minimal direction.
- Experience in the application of skills to develop a variety of different model types to generate action-oriented outputs foundational to long term client strategy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in urban planning, environmental management, or transportation.
- Understanding of real estate occupancy planning and management.
