Ardent is seeking a GIS Consultant/Project Manager to join our team.
This is a hybrid position working onsite in Washington DC 1 - 2 days a week..
Position Description:
Ardent is seeking a skilled GIS Consultant / Project Manager to support geospatial information technology initiatives as part of a collaborative, mission-focused team environment.
This role is responsible for implementing geospatial solutions within a large team (5–10 members) and may also serve as a small team lead (3–4 members). The ideal candidate is proficient in managing small-to-medium work efforts using industry-standard methodologies, including Agile Scrum and Waterfall, while ensuring high-quality delivery of geospatial products and services.
The GIS Consultant / Project Manager will also provide tactical recommendations to government stakeholders to improve processes, enhance deliverables, and support better mission outcomes through effective use of geospatial technologies.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Implement geospatial information technology solutions as part of a large project team.
- Serve as a small team lead overseeing 3–4 personnel, as needed.
- Manage project tasks using Agile Scrum, Waterfall, or other industry-standard methodologies.
- Coordinate planning, execution, and delivery of geospatial work efforts.
- Provide tactical recommendations to government stakeholders to improve processes and outcomes.
- Support development, analysis, and delivery of geospatial data products and services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Track progress, manage deliverables, and support reporting requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of workflows, tools, and geospatial solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree.
- Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of specialized experience or Master's degree plus three (3) years of specialized experience.
- Experience implementing geospatial information systems (GIS) solutions in a project or enterprise environment.
- Experience managing small technical teams or contributing as a technical lead.
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum, Waterfall, or similar project management methodologies.
- Strong understanding of GIS tools, geospatial data management, and mapping technologies.
- Ability to provide recommendations for process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
