Benefits

● Pay rate: $25 per hour, based on regional grant funding and experience
● Approximately 26.5 hours per week
● Monday–Friday, approximately 1:00 PM–6:00 PM
● Early September through late May (30-week contract). Additional weeks may be available depending on funding.
● This is a part-time, non-benefited position

Key Responsibilities

● Implement evidence-based literacy instruction using the UFLI Foundations curriculum and related structured literacy practices.
● Deliver targeted small-group and individualized literacy interventions.
● Administer DIBELS assessments at Beginning, Middle, and End of Year benchmark periods.
● Analyze assessment data to inform instruction, intervention planning, and student support strategies.
● Support MTSS and RTI processes by identifying students who require additional academic support.
● Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes utilizing SELPQA and related program quality tools.
● Engage in data meetings, reflection sessions, and action-planning processes to improve student outcomes.
● Serve as a literacy resource for school staff and program teams.
● Collaborate with coordinators and school partners to align literacy programming with school-site goals.

Key Responsibilities

● Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, and program records.
● Ensure timely submission of required reports and documentation.
● Monitor program implementation and support compliance with BACR and district requirements.
● Participate in required meetings, trainings, workshops, and professional development activities.
● Promote program visibility and support recruitment and engagement efforts.
● Step into student supervision ratios when needed to support program operations.

Qualifications

● Must pass a criminal background check and TB test clearance.
● Strong understanding of foundational literacy instruction.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to work effectively with diverse students, families, and school personnel.
● Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high degree of integrity.
● Experience with DIBELS and structured literacy approaches preferred.
● Training or experience with UFLI Foundations preferred.
● Education and Youth Development background preferred.
● Experience working in schools and/or nonprofit settings preferred.
● Familiarity with SELPQA or similar quality improvement frameworks preferred.
● Ability to communicate effectively in English with students and families.
● Basic English reading proficiency to support students’ academic development and school-day alignment.

Essential Functions

● Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
● Ability to travel to required meetings and school sites.
● Valid California Driver’s License and insured vehicle preferred.
● Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and web-based platforms.
● Ability to maintain detailed records and documentation.
● Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
● Must be punctual, organized, and reliable.
