Location: 100% work in community in assigned High Country territory (Avery, Watauga, Ashe, Allegany or Wilkes Counties). Work is primarily conducted at schools,  faith-based institutions and libraries. Local travel is a core part of the role. 6-10 hours per week on average; primarily evenings and some weekends; 12-week seasons- winter and spring

Job Type: Part-time hourly, non-exempt

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

The Opportunity

Are you a passionate leader and connector? We are looking for an energetic Girl Scout Champion to drive our mission by recruiting and retaining girl and adult members within an assigned geographic territory. As a Girl Scout Champion, you are the face of Girl Scouts in your community—fostering partnerships, supporting volunteers, and ensuring every girl has the opportunity to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Growth: through in-person presentations and leading membership information/registration events. Clearly communicate to potential members the Girl Scout Mission, including the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and the benefits of being a Girl Scout member.
  • Community Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with schools, businesses, and community centers to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Teamwork: Work with Engagement Managers, volunteer recruiters and other staff to fulfill goals for each event. Assist members with registration 

Requirements

What You Bring (Qualifications)

  • Experience and Education: The ideal person for the role will have experience in outside sales, recruiting, retail or public relations
  • Passion and Enthusiasm: A strong commitment to the Girl Scout Mission and the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, primarily early evenings and some weekend events
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Tech Equipment: Access to a personal laptop computer with Wi-Fi capabilities
  • Transportation: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
