Additionally, Geospatial Analyst supports the development and maintenance of the university’s enterprise GIS. This includes managing campus basemap layers, utilities data, tree and landscape data, construction-related updates, and other operational layers used to support facilities planning and operations. The position also assists with drone imagery collection and post-processing, documentation development, and training and support for interns and student workers as needed.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
GIS Operations & Data Management
- Maintain and enhance enterprise GIS systems using the Esri ArcGIS platform.
- Manage campus basemaps, utilities, asset, landscape, and infrastructure data layers.
- Perform data editing, quality assurance, and ongoing maintenance.
- Integrate data from AutoCAD drawings, construction updates, and drone imagery.
Analysis & Visualization
- Create maps, dashboards, reports, and web applications.
- Perform spatial analysis and respond to data requests.
- Present GIS insights in clear, actionable formats.
Field Data & Technology Support
- Support mobile GIS data collection (e.g., ArcGIS Field Maps).
- Assist with drone imagery planning, collection, and processing.
- Test and support GIS applications and system enhancements.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with Facilities staff and campus stakeholders.
- Translate technical GIS concepts into user-friendly outputs.
- Assist in training student workers and interns.
Perform other duties as assigned.
