Job Purpose:
Our Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development, coordination and direction of profitable sales within a specified region. Duties include acting as the leader of your territory by managing a team of sales professionals, implementing and fostering corporate initiatives, maintaining supplier relationships and growing Veritiv’s customer base. This position requires a “take the wheel” approach for the entire sales process along with strong skills for intelligence gathering, prospecting to negotiating and account management.Job Responsibilities:
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- In conjunction with the National Sales Manager and the Regional Vice President, develop and implement Sales Management strategic and tactical plans needed to achieve the budget and growth expectations.
- Recruit, hire and train Sales Representatives
- Coach, mentor and teach the Sales organization and drive the adoption of internal and external best practices.
- Build Sales Representatives’ ability to create and maintain viable pipelines of projects, prospects, and new accounts.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly and annual reviews with Sales Representatives to grow and improve sales performance.
- Utilize proficiency with Power BI to track and analyze sales growth and implement efficiencies.
- Refine existing tools and develop new tools and practices and tailor these to the region’s needs.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of Distribution Sales and Sales Management of proven and successful experience
- Packaging industry experience a plus
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Proven track record of sales management and leadership in a commission based industrial distribution environment
- Travel expectations up to 50% local travel
- High energy to drive change and solid project management skills to make it happen.
- Strong analytical skills and sound business judgment
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to coach, train and influence other people
- Executive level oral and written communications skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

· A significant portion of the job responsibilities will require computer work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for long periods of time. The position also requires frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
· The position requires work in an office as well as travel to customers, suppliers, group meetings, etc.
