About the role:

We are currently seeking a General Operative to join the Bond Operations team based at Midleton Distillery, reporting to the Bond Supervisor. This role plays a vital part in the Cask Management Process for our award-winning Irish whiskeys.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, excellent knowledge of warehouse equipment, and a strong focus on health and safety.

Work Pattern

You will work a rotating two-shift cycle, which currently operates as follows:

• Shift 1: 7:00 am to 14:45 pm, Monday to Thursday; 07:00 am to 13:45 pm on Friday.
• Shift 2: 14:30 pm to 22:15 pm, Monday to Thursday; 13:30 pm to 20:15 pm on Friday.

You will also be required to work one late shift in a three-week period.

Main Responsibilities

• Unloading various types of casks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Filling and emptying casks.
• Filling and emptying tankers in the Vathouse tanker station.
• Operating production line equipment such as the stacker, bander, and coding system.
• Ensuring compliance with all company and site policies, including Bond Procedures and Quality, Safety, and Environmental standards.
• Actively contributing value-adding ideas for process improvements.
• Ensuring hygiene and housekeeping are maintained to the highest standards.
• Safely handling all casks and operating in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
• Being aware of risks and risk assessments that apply to each task.

Skills and Attributes Required

• Minimum of 12 months of experience in a General Operative role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience in contributing to process improvements and bringing new ideas.
• Knowledge of quality, environmental, and health & safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A highly motivated self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude.
• A strong team player who is flexible, reliable, and capable of building effective relationships.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
