SUMMARY: This position is responsible for coordinating the shipping receiving and warehousing of all ingredients and products to ensure timely deliveries and quality products for Tyson team members and customers. This will be done be ensuring that all paperwork is completed on a timely manner. Computer transactions will be performed in a timely fashion and inventory accuracy must be maintained of the raw ingredients outside warehouse and finished goods inventories. The Warehouse manager will coordinate communication between Production and the warehouse to make sure product is delivered to the line when needed to make schedule. The finished goods materials will be monitored for accuracy and specifications. Cycle counts, and physical inventories are the Warehouse Manager s responsibility. This position is also responsible to see that all paperwork associated with payroll hiring vacation etc. scheduling of employee workloads administering policies and guidelines established by OSHA and Tyson Foods and working with sales personnel to ensure proper shipment. Other responsibilities include coordinating with our drivers and other trucking companies to ensure proper delivery dates ensuring safety procedures are being implemented and upheld conducting crew and shift meetings to communicate goals and expectations and resolving conflicts with or between dock personnel customers drivers or other departments; performing other responsibilities as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Education beyond high school including special training vocational school and or college courses preferred.
Experience: 3 plus year of experience in material handling, logistics or warehouse operations. Supervisor level or higher preferred; experience in the pork or beef industry fresh meats with general knowledge of production operations, techniques, food safety, product yields, and USDA regulations a plus.
Computer Skills: Requires basic computer skills. Proficiency in Excel a plus
Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills; bilingual skills preferred. Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from Hourly to Upper Management, as well as Government Officials.
Special Skills: Strong Math skills required. Team Leader, coach, problem solver, and special projects skills; good attendance and safety record; must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork; ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce; Cold chain management experience in warehouse environments a plus.
Supervisory: This person is responsible for supervising a group of team members who perform various warehouse tasks or activities.
Travel: 4 plus trips per year.
Candidates who are currently working for Tyson Foods will be considered for this position first. If none of those Team Members are selected, then external candidates will be considered.
Internal Candidates must have no more than a minimum attendance level of less than 6 points and must not have received a written warning within the last 6 months.
The Candidate selected for this position must be able to work extended hours as required per management.as required per management.
