General Ledger Specialist

The Senior General Ledger Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/US GAAP/ Canada and Ireland), and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role will collaborate with AP/AR/Controller teams and provide insights to improve financial processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/USGAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Analyze variances and provide explanations for management reporting.
• Support audits (internal and external) and ensure timely resolution of findings.
• Assist in standardization process and automation opportunities.
• Collaborate with other finance teams on intercompany partners.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and assist with Government surveys filings and reporting requirements.
• Monitor and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Participate in system upgrades or implementations, ensuring proper configuration and testing for accounting processes.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in general ledger accounting or similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local statutory requirements.
• Proficiency in SAP, advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to teamwork, bringing support to their colleagues.
• .English level: B2 Required

Preferred Skills

• Experience in multinational companies.
• Familiarity with Standard Operational Procedures and financial reporting tools.
