General Ledger Specialist

Main characteristic of the role:

The GL Accountant is responsible for maintaining all aspects of accounts receivables, accounts payable, general ledger and associated internal controls. In support of business controller initiatives, the Accountant ensures compliant, timely and accurate country internal and external reporting.

Main accountabilities of the role:

• Maintain transaction processes and systems to ensure effective financial reporting and operational information;
• Prepare journal entries, recurring and allocation journal entries, and gather adequate supporting documentation;
• Perform month- end, quarter-end and year-end closing;
• Perform timely and accurate internal and external reporting based in IFRS, Local GAAP from government and compliance to internal policies;
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements as well as internal controls;
• Update and maintain financial reports on a regularly basis;
• Provide information for statutory returns for tax, VAT and other government departments to external consultant, and ensure the submission to relevant authority in time
• Prepare tax return, declaration and the related documentations requested by tax authority;
• Manage fixed assets;
• Reconcile balance sheets;
• Supports Business Controller in:
• planning and control cycles: strategic plan, budgeting, forecasting, monthly analyses and interpretation of results;
• implementing internal processes and procedures;
• ad hoc analysis and business cases;
• Identify areas for improvement in the internal information systems and processes.

Requirements

• Educational Level: Bachelor Level
• Professional Experience: (-) 3-5 years of relevant experience / (+) 5-7 years of relevant experience
• Leadership Level: Individual Contributor
