General Ledger Senior Staff Accountant

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The position includes, but is not limited to, the following essential job duties, responsibilities and requirements:

• Assist Accounting Manager in managing monthly close process and various reporting requirements.
• Maintains accounting controls by managing input and verification of transaction information; ensures all deadlines are met during close process.
• Balances and verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions such as Misc Accruals, Prepaid Insurance, Service Review.
• Balances and verifies all accounting transactions associated with the Distribution Center. Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation, coordinating posting of adjustments.
• Maintains guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
• Maintains accurate balance between main accounting system (PDI Enterprise) and various sub reporting systems.
• Maintain accounting controls by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls, ensuring compliance with IFRS.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Provide assistance and mentoring to Accountants within the department.
• Promptly and effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
• Assist with special projects as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required (must be a specific degree in Accounting or Finance).
• Licensed CPA preferred (active pursuit may be accepted, proof required).
• Three years of accounting experience is preferred.
• Ability to analyze large data sets to identify trends, variances, and insights that support financial decision-making and reporting.
• Able to work independently and within a collaborative team-oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.
• Demonstrate ability to foster teamwork and facilitate teams through the encouragement and building of mutual trust, respect, and cooperation amongst team members.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and experience or ability to analyze data in a high transaction volume organization.
• Must be proficient in MS Access, Excel and Word.
• Experience working with accounting applications preferred; PDI and Longview experience is a plus.
• Able to interface with all functions at all levels within the organization.
• Project management skills to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects based on business needs and requirements.
• Detail-oriented, able to work effectively under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
