Trueline is seeking a General Ledger Manager to join their finance team in New York City (hybrid, 3x/week onsite). This is a strategic opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives at the intersection of traditional finance and emerging technology, including AI and process automation.

What You'll Do as the General Ledger Manager:

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the general ledger team, overseeing accounting functions including journal entries, payroll entries, reconciliations, and fixed assets
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with firm standards
  • Coordinate and prepare for external audits, including drafting financial statements and supporting documentation
  • Collaborate across departments such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Payroll, Tax, and IT to align GL processes with broader firm initiatives
  • Drive modernization efforts including system upgrades, automation tools, AI adoption, and real-time reporting dashboards
  • Act as the business owner for GL system improvements and cross-functional workflows
  • Mentor a small but growing team, with one direct supervisor report and two junior team members under their purview

Must-Haves as the General Ledger Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Accounting experience in a law firm environment
  • At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role
  • Strong foundation in GAAP and internal controls
  • Experience in professional services, law firms, or similarly structured environments
  • Proven ability to drive or participate in process improvements and cross-functional collaboration
  • Comfort managing deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced setting

Nice-to-Haves as the General Ledger Manager:

  • CPA certification
  • Exposure to AI or RPA tools and implementation efforts
  • Familiarity with Power BI or other financial analytics platforms

This Role Offers:

  • Competitive base salary ($165,000 to $195,000 depending on experience)
