General Ledger Accounting Manager

Role Description:

The GFiber General Ledger (GL) Accounting Manager is an exciting position, demanding excellence in technical skills and a proven ability to work on cross-functional projects and lead a team. You will partner with a variety of stakeholders to support and directly contribute to GFiber’s growth.  You are empowered to drive efficiency improvements in our month end close and reporting processes. 

You will be involved in many different accounting aspects of GFiber - reviewing, posting, and analyzing journal entries; solving system and process gaps; and playing an integral role in the monthly close process and other accounting areas, providing insights to the GFiber Controller, CFO and Business Teams. You are enthusiastic and a self-starter, wanting to enhance existing processes; scoping, designing, and implementing new and scalable processes to support the company’s growth.  

This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the general ledger close process, account reconciliations, consolidations, intercompany accounting, and other key accounting processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.

In this role, you’ll: 

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion; ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Oversee and manage accounting for multiple areas of the Company (payroll, AP, intercompany, consolidation, etc).
• Stand-up new processes and operations necessary for business and system transformation, including supporting the launch of a new ERP.
• Develop and implement policies, controls and procedures to improve accounting efficiency.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports.

At a minimum we’d like you to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of 2 years in public accounting as well as applicable accounting operations experience.
• CPA or CA certification and working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience in accounting system/process transformations and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems.
• 1 year of experience building, developing, and managing a team.

It’s preferred if you have:

• Experience driving transformative projects including process, controls, and implementations.
• Experience initiating process improvement and other project management experience.
• Demonstrated experience communicating complex findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner, both verbally as well as in writing and presentations.
• SAP experience. 
• Oversight or direct experience in the following areas of accounting: AP, Payroll, Cash, Intercompany, Consolidation, Leasing, Inventory.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $142,000 - $209,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
