General Ledger Accountant

Work Arrangement / Work Shift: Remote Set-up
Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance & Accounting Specialist to support general ledger activities, reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing processes, treasury functions, and financial reporting. This role will work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure accurate financial records, compliance with accounting regulations, and smooth intercompany and tax-related processes. The ideal candidate will also contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and provide cross-functional support across AP, AR, and HR finance operations.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Be responsible for performing general ledger entries, plus bank and account reconciliations on a monthly / quarterly / annual basis, working closely with & supporting our Accounting Manager with MEC & YEC topics.

• Enter financial data & prepare bookings such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and intercompany entries into the ledger on a monthly and annual basis as required for the Accounting Manager to review.

• Support the Accounting Manager to ensure the accurate balancing of intercompany transactions, as well as with the Tax / Vat accounting & relevant reporting preparations & checks.

• Support with the consolidation & import / export of data between financial systems,

• Take part in treasury functions – allowing us to ensure sufficient division of duties & responsibilities.

• Support with efficiency and automation improvements, as well as process updates, optimization & implementation

• Be responsible for providing assurance that our accounting practices adhere to regulations & conducting regular audits/checks on the accuracy of our financial information as processed within the team.

• Provide support across all other finance admin operations – for our AP & AR accountants, as well as HR - assisting with various account reconciliations & consolidations, including guidance on regulations relevant.

What You’ll Need:

• Degree / Qualification in Accounting or any related field

• 3-5 years related experience as a General Accountant or should demonstrate a sound knowledge of best practices in general ledger accounting and have experience in a similar role

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with ERP & accounting software, such as NetSuite

• Excellent collaboration and English communication skills (written and verbal) to communicate with English-speaking internal and external stakeholders and customers

• An organized individual, capable of prioritizing and handling multiple tasks/projects simultaneously as usually required for this role

• A passion for compliance and financial regulation
