As a General Ledger Accountant, you will support SEON's treasury, payroll, operational expenses and accounting activities across multiple international entities. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will be responsible for month-end close processes, account reconciliations, cash flow reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Working closely with the Controlling/Reporting, and Accounts Payable teams, you will help ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and efficient accounting operations. The ideal candidate has experience in a multinational environment, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement.


This role offers flexibility and will be based in our Budapest,Hungary office with a hybrid schedule.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Monitor daily banking activity and cash positions across all SEON entities (Hungary, UK, Indonesia, and US), ensuring adequate funding and liquidity management across the group.

  • Prepare cash flow forecasts, cash burn analysis, treasury reporting, and intercompany funding recommendations to support business operations and strategic decision-making.

  • Maintain and reconcile multiple bank accounts in NetSuite, recording bank-related transactions, journal entries, and treasury activities, including bank fees, interest, FX transactions, and month-end reconciliations.

  • Manage intercompany accounting by recording transactions, preparing funding settlements, and reconciling balances between group entities on a monthly basis.

  • Support month-end close activities, including payroll, tax, accrual, treasury, fixed asset, depreciation, amortization, and foreign exchange accounting, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Assist with accounts payable processing, entity-level journal entries, account reconciliations, and other general accounting activities across all SEON entities.

  • Perform FX revaluations and analyze realized and unrealized foreign exchange gains and losses.

  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting and treasury policies, and support treasury-related audits, KYC/AML processes, UBO requests, and external financial reporting requirements.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate expense accruals and efficient month-end close processes, while maintaining strong relationships with external accountants, auditors, and banking partners.

  • Contribute to and support finance-led and cross-functional projects, driving continuous improvement across treasury, accounting, and financial operations.


WHAT YOU’ll BRING:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • 2–5 years of experience in accounting, treasury, or a similar finance function.

  • Strong understanding of Hungarian Accounting Standards (HAS); knowledge of IFRS is an advantage.

  • Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar is beneficial but not required.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, international environment.

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and regions.

  • Fluent Hungarian and English language skills, both written and verbal.
