What will you bring to the team.
The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and/or cash management accounting. Ensures necessary journals are prepared within strict timelines. Follows up with key stakeholders to ensure balance sheet reconciling items and related subledger source system variances are resolved. Works diligently to ensure all cash transactions have the appropriate accounting treatment. The Senior General Ledger Accountant assures financial accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
What will you be doing:
- Prepare a high-volume of journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation in a timely and accurate fashion
- Support various accounting functions for the month-end close
- Provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports
- Review, track, and maintain external and intercompany billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other accounting regulations
- Support inter-company transactions in Oracle Advanced Global Intercompany System as needed
- Responsible for preparing and presenting the financial review for one or more regions / financial accounts.
- Communicate with the business on relevant accounting matters.
- Recommend to management any updates in accounting policies.
- Create and manage setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report cash entries, advanced payments, accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions and other general accounting transactions, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy, or record fixed assets.
Naturally to be successful in this role, you must have and know of:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent combination of education or experience.
- 3-4 years of related accounting/GL experience with complex transactions (cash disbursements, cash receipts).
- Strong knowledge of banking interfaces and Electronic Fund Transfers.
- Knowledge of Cash management modules.
- Strong knowledge of third-party billing, contractual allowance and client master terms and conditions.
- Organizational and time management skills (meet deadlines).
- Advanced English.
- Experience with Excel (intermediate).
Nice to have:
- Usage of Oracle or any other ERP.
- JSOX and US GAAP knowledge.
- Intercompany transactions experience.
