The PositionGeneral Ledger Accountant

Job Summary

We are currently looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join us. Our GL department is structured into specialized sub-teams: General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, and Treasury. By applying to this vacancy, you will be considered for a role within our General Accounting (Reporting) stream.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Core GL Activities: Prepare and post manual journal entries (accruals, adjustments, reclassifications) in line with strict month-end closing deadlines

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies

  • Financial Controls: Prepare controls for assigned entities and ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards (IFRS)

  • General Accounting flows (manage accruals  & prepaid expenses, financial analysis, and reporting)

  • Audit & Compliance: Support internal and external audits by providing clear documentation and explanations for transactions

  • Collaboration: Work closely with local business units and finance teams across Europe to gather data and facilitate smooth financial operations

  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the harmonization of processes and participate in special projects to increase SSC efficiency

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

  • Professional Certifications: Possession of (or progress toward) professional qualifications (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIA etc.) will be considered a significant plus

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in Accounting or related financial roles

  • Fluency in English (additional languages will be considered a plus)

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA experience will be considered a strong asset)

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and/or Google sheets 

  • Previous experience in an SSC environment would be considered an advantage
